Sunbeam SG7621SP Grill Questions & Answers
My dog chewed the cord
probably cheaper to just replace the electric blanket than to get it fixed with the postage.
Will not heat on one side
1. First thought is that a connector which provides power to the element has become disconnected. You can visually check this by looking at the end(s) of the element and making sure any plugs, terminals or wires are not loose.
2. A second possibility is that the heating element is burned out. You would need an ohm meter to check this (with the grill unplugged). Disconnect the element from any wires, set the meter to measure ohms, apply one test probe to one end of the element and the other test probe to the other end. The meter should register some resistance but should not indicate an open circuit (very very high resistance).
3. The final possibility I can think of is that there is a bad control circuit that determines whether power goes to the element. It would be possible to determine if this is the problem but you would need to be able to work with live wires and this is potentially dangerous and not recommended. If the first two options do not work, I would recommend a qualified technician.
Good luck!
BEDDING PLUG LOOSE CONNECTION
You could use a piece of wire, preferrably insulated, that you wrap around the inserted plug and then twist to keep it in place. You do not want to use glue or anything that may be permanent because it will make replacement of the part served by the plug nearly impossible or at least inconvenient.
