Hot water pressure low.

Inlet screen into the unit may be clogged. Remove and clean. Another possibilities depending on age of home. If Galvanized piping is used then possible rust buildup in pipe has restricted the water flow. Replace with plastic or copper. I hope that this has helped, please rate the answer on it's helpfulness. Good Luck and have a great weekend. Jeff

I am getting alternate C7 and 76 code as unit

called Rheem and after giving them the info they are shipping out a replacement board which I can install, hopefully today..to overcome the hot water problem for the short term I disconnected the remote wires at the heater which lets the heater keep producing hot water albeit without the remote...I will keep the old board as backup in case this happens again as there seems to be problems with the PCB

Power vent tankless heater has a down draft

I got a dryer vent kit (Alum) took the extension pipe off and cut the center hole open a little and slid it over the existing elbow. Now when the heater turns on the little flap opens and when the air flow stops the flap closes stopping the air coming down the pipe.

Rheem Pronto RTG-74 error code C4

Error code 13 is "oxygen depletion sensor" activated.
The first number is a sequence indicator.
If you need the training manual I have it and can send it to you.
I got Rheem to send it to me a while back and it is a big help when working with these units.
It covers th RTG-42, 53, 66 and 74.

I am having the same problem as posted by jek01 on

Remove power source from the unit. If remote control2.gif is installed; remove cover and lift the control wires on the terminal...can be accomplished from either end.

Restore power and see if unit functions normally.

Contact Paloma/Rheem customer (800-432-8373) support and notify them IF you are getting a code "76" error. Rheem has recently extended the warranty on the "Burner Control Assm."; which is your problem. The C4-C8 portion of the error code, is where the unit stops the ignition process...burner fails to light, or gives you intermittent hot water. In either case, contact customer support2.gif.

If this helps, please indicate so.

Code 1-11 shows up randomly and sometimes no water

Contact Paloma/Rheem customer (800-432-8373) support and ask them for the number of a local installer in your area. I had the same problem with my Paloma unit. The tech was able to diagnose the problem as the water control valve, and managed to get Rheem to pay for the cost of the part; labor was not covered because the unit was over three years old.
Hope this helps,
JZKlipper/Mike

Richman gas lp tankless hot water heater. used for

I had the same problem with my Paloma a year and a half after installation...contacted Rheem\Paloma\Richman customer service (800-432-8373) and they recommened a local installer in my area. The technican diagnosed the problem as the "flow control valve"; he managed to get Rheem/Paloma to cover the part under warranty...I only had to shell out the money for the install.

05 Imperfect Combustion Alarm
Clean air inlet filter.
Clean combustion air fan.
Clean heat exchanger fins.
Check for adequate combustion air ventilation openings and clean if necessary.
Check vent system for partial blockage and correct as necessary.

If this does not help; contact Rheem customer support.

Code C7 76 falshes

I had the same problem. Rheem/Paloma tech support 1-800-431-1549 checked the error codes and sent me a new motherboard next day air. Since I stil needed hot water, I disconnected the remote control from the heater and it worked fine (just turn power off on remote, open front door of unit and unscreww/disconnect the 2 wires coming from the remote). The motherboard arrived and I installed and it works fine. However, you will need 1 person working on unit and one reading the codes/numbers on the remote (my unit is outdoors and the remote display is indoors, so it was not a 1-person job). Tech support was very helpful.
