Why even mess around with a leaky coffee pot? Just buy a new one theres a ton of garage sales if a new one is not in your budget. I noticed the same thing a little leak and as soon as it would start to brew....I also thought I was just spilling water around the heat plate. After a few weeks of wiping the heat plate I decided to invest in something enjoyable.

the code number is an error code. The error indicates that there is something wrong on the copier that needs attention.

The E000 code on your machines means there is an error history. In order to clear this error, you will need to reset the printer. To reset, follow the steps below on your machine and the error should be cleared.

Press #
Press > to #7 Printer Function
Press Set
Press > to #4 Printer Reset
Press Set
Press <
Unplug printer and re-power it.

The above should solve the problem.

There is a device attached to the heater that 'blows' if it over heats ... yours is blown ... as such, the heater will not come on and the water will not heat/perk. You might be able to repair this if you can fid the parts in your community. Check at Johnstone Supply or Radion Shack if these are in your area.

You can find the device by opening the bottom of the maker. Test it on the contunity setting of a volt/ohm meter. If the piece is welded onto the heater as many are, make sure to leave enough wire to attach the new part. Use a crimp tool to attach, not a wire nut.

I am not an electronics expert, but mine stopped and it was out of warranty by about 3 months so I decided to take it apart....I am usually pretty good at fixing things. I found the problem. One of the small capacitors on the power cicuit board had went out and leaked across the circuit.
I called to see if I could get a new board and was told no. My choice was to exchange it for a new one if it was still under warranty or throw it away if it wasn't!!!!

According to the manual for IS series Mr. Coffee for programmable models:
1. Prepare one batch of Mr. Coffee coffeemaker cleaner. Pour the mixture into the water reservoir. Remove the water filtration disk from the machine.
4 cups or 20 oz. of undiluted, white household vinegar may be used as a substitute for the cleaner.
2. Place an empty paper filter or permanent filter into the filter basket and close.
3. Place the empty decanter back in the unit, centered on the warmer plate.
4. Press SELECT button until the red CLEAN indicator light is illuminated. For your convenience the cleaning cycle is automatic. The entire cycle will take 45-60 min to complete. During the cleaning your coffeemaker will:

• Slow brew approx. 3 cups of cleaning solution.
• Pause for 30 min (the CLEAN light will remain on to alert you that the process is active). At the end of the pause period your coffeemaker will beep.
• After 30 mins your coffeemaker will brew the remainder of the cleaning solution.
• When complete, the CLEAN light will turn off and your coffeemaker will automatically beep and shut off.

5.Discard the cleaning solution and rinse the decanter thoroughly with clean water.
6. Fill the water reservoir with clean fresh water.
7. Place the empty decanter back on the coffeemaker, centered on the warmer plate.
8. Remove and discard the filter used during the cleaning cycle and replace it with a fresh paper filter. If a permanent filter was used during cleaning, remove it and rinse it thoroughly before replacing it in the filter basket.
9.Begin brewing and allow the full brew cycle to complete.
Repeat steps 6-9 one more time.

Assuming you're talking about the FT series with the "delay brew" button and the 24 hour analog as opposed to digital clock, it's simple.

First, you have to have your correct time set. This is simple just press the hour button and then the minute button until the correct time is showing. Be sure to look for the AM PM indicator to make sure you're getting the desired time set.

Then press the delay brew button and use the same hour and minute buttons until you get the desired time (again watch for am/pm)

I can't explain it but I bought that coffee maker on the 4th of Sept it is now the 23rd and I've been having that same issue for the past couple of days so I called the company! They are sending me out a new one for free. They didn't explain why the issue happened, or what the cause was but I guess it must mean the darn thing is dead if they didn't want me to send it in. They are also said they were out of stock on that item, so I don't know if there have been a lot of people calling for this problem or what but either way call them, they will most likely send you a new one!

If you have hard water, minerals may have built up in the unit, slowing down the flow. You should be able to find some sort of mineral-dissolving treatment for it at your local grocery or hardware store. Make sure to run a few pots of plain water when you are done, to get any residue out!

You need to clean it out every 3-4 days. I use a brush and pointed knife for the packed grounds. Mine works great now.

3 beeps means plugged water line. Take off the bottom of the coffee maker with a small phillips head screwdriver. Use pliers (I used needle nose type) to remove the wire clamps holding on the silicone water tubes to the hot plate. In my case, the water line from the reservoir to the plate was clogged with something I couldn't see until I blew on the hose and it popped out, could have been scale, grounds etc Clean with vinegar. Back in service!

I see two problems that you've described. First, you have a bad empty-reservoir sensor. Mine went out on my first Mr. Coffee within the first month also. The purpose of the sensor is to trigger the beeping to simply let you know when the coffee is done. The coffeemaker would normally work fine otherwise. Second, you have a bad heating element. This is the core function of your coffeemaker and renders it useless for anything but a nice warming plate. I recommend replacing the coffeemaker. In the future, make sure you do not add water to the reservoir unless the coffeemaker has been turned of for at least five minutes. This will help prolong the life of the heating element. The heating element will naturally degrade over time. But, it can incur sudden damage when the reservoir is refilled with water too soon - while the element is still hot. Because of the simple design, if the coffeemaker is on, then both the warming plate's heating element and the reservoir's heating element are on. So, after a brewing cycle is complete, the reservoir's heating element stays on. Without any in the reservoir to keep it cool, the heating element superheats. So, if water is put in the reservoir while the coffeemaker is on or before the element has adequately cooled, the sudden burst of steam from the water contacting the element can be quite violent.
