Heath Zenith SL-6136-WH Basic Solutions Wireless Switch and Plug-in - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
My Motion detector #5512 quit working after we had our house washed. One bulb was out so I replaced that. Both bulbs glow but do not turn on.
Reset circuit breaker. Check if you are on a GFCI circuit.Probably there is no hope, but the sensor has to be removed to replaced, so take it off and hang it upside down and let dry in sun. There is no repair protocol for fixing motion detectors, because there are no replaceable parts, or circuit boards.Cover outdoor electronics with plastic bag when washing house. That includes light and pool timers, breaker boxes, low voltage timers, infrared cameras, motion detectors, alarm boxes, etc.Should the power wash contractor know this? Maybe yes.We never covered things when washing houses, and we washed 100s per year, but I told the guys not to put pressured water directly on any outdoor electrical system. Can you prove that the sensor stopped because of washing. No.The unit could have simply stopped working.earlier that morning, without provocation. If you need further help, I’m available over the phone at

My bulbs are burning dim
The line voltage may be low. it is possible the bulbs are too great of a wattage for the motion circuit or branch wiring. It is also possible the relay got wet and formed a layer of crud between the contacts that has some resistance. If they are not shutting off completely, the relay may have some corrosion built up on a contact providing a circuit path.If another pair of bulbs behave the same way, it is time to replace the unit.

I have motion lightts on
On most motion sensor lights if you turn the switch on, then off and on quickly, they will stay on till you turn them back off. Leave it off for at least 10 seconds and turn it back on to go back to the motion sensor.

Hello! i've purchased one of your door chimes
Each push button should have jumpers in the back of them. By the description you say its the wireless but your text describes wires. If it is the wireless there should be jumpers, little black blocks that make an electrical connection, inside the push buttons and the receiver. Be sure you read the manual about which ones go where for your dual operation.

Heath Zenith Security Light fixture with motion stopped working.
I am in the middle of a discussion with Heath/Zenith over a closely related and perhaps identical issue. I purchased their 5718 model from Home Depot and based on the fact that their brochure stated that "CFL bulbs are only usable on 270 degree units." I purchased the model 5718 unit (270 degree) and used CFL bulbs. It experienced the same problem others noted.
The technician at Heath/Zenith told me that only DIMMABLE CFL bulbs would work with this unit (even if the DualBrite feature is turned off). Standard CFL bulbs will not work.
Their brochure does not make that clear. Perhaps that is the answer to others' problems.

I have turned the switch off and they still will
Sounds like the electronics of the motion detector is toast, probably from a voltage surge associated with your power failure. Since you have already used the manual switch, you have already tried the "reboot" option, but here is something else to try (it's a long shot). Turn the manual switch off, remove the light bulbs, turn the switch on for a few seconds, turn it back off, replace the bulbs and try again. Also, in the remote chance that this device uses an electo-mechanical relay (as opposed to all solid-state), the relay may be stuck, you might give it a couple of sharp raps while you have the bulbs out. When you turn it back on (before you put the bulbs back in) you might be able to hear the click of the relay if you go out there and give it some motion to detect. If all this doesn't work, you'll need to replace the unit. They may sell a replacement electronics unit for it. --- good luck.

I purchased the dual brite motion sensing lights
are you using fluorescent bulbs? I had the same problem in my stairway/hallway till I switched to master/slave. Why don't you want master/slave? What's the diff?
I think each switch allows a certain amount of current to pass...with one switch, it's not enough to light the bulb; two switches, you get a faint light.

The light fixture stopped working.
Try installing a new switch if you haven't already. If you have make sure the wiring is correct and if all seems fine turn the breaker off and make sure its "hard" to reset, if not it's most likely the breaker... Unless you have a rat problem

I have a Heath Zenith
By pulling it apart and following the circuit path it should be fairly apparent how to 'bridge out' the faulty PIR sensor.
If it is not, or you are not sure, then (no offence), you really shouldn't be playing with it. Some units are transistor bypass and some are relay. Cheers

When door bell is pushed
The unit is receiving electricity so low-voltage transformer and button are working correctly.
Only suspect left is door chime itself.
Check that voltage of transformer matches voltage of chime.
Use cheap multimeter from home center and check voltage at chime, or check transformer.
Doorbell transformers are usually located in basement or garage or attic, and most are hardwired into octagon box.
There are no replacement parts for door chimes.
Buy new one, or contact seller for refund if this is new chime.

Can a neighbor motion light
Hello rob.... yes, your neighbor's light may well interfere with yours in that IF the neighbor's light is coming on first, your light will sense that it is daytime and it will not come on. These lights have sensitivity adjustments on them, generally, and the eye can often be redirected. A little experimentation may be necessary. Joe
Thanks for choosing Fixya!

Connecting a Heath Zenith Doorbell 172C-A
Do you have a transformer with it? Apparently this doorbell can operate on AC or DC (3-6VDC or 8-16VAC). The usual method is to supply 110 VAC to a transformer with an output of about 16VAC. ------ BE SURE YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING WHEN DEALING WITH 110VAC. HAVE A CAPABLE ADULT HELP YOU WITH THIS! -------
Connect one of the two outputs from the transformer to one of the terminals on the bell (this might be labeled COMMON) The other output from the transformer will go to your handheld lead (like in the Operation game). Connect a lead from your patient (as in the Operations game) to a terminal on the bell which is probably labeled for AC.

Flood lights take a very long time to come on
Insure you are using a standard flood light on motion sensor lights and not a florescent energy efficient flood light as they take longer to reach full brightness as the bulb filiment warms up. They are better suited for constant lighting rather than intermittent purposes such as sensor lights.
Good Luck
