Mixer won't turn on
You will need to test for power throughout the circuit to find where it stops, you will need a multi meter. You may be better getting a service agent to look if you are uncomfortable dismantling your machine.

Head tilts too much
The screws that hold the motor to the support stand have come loose and need to be tightened down or one of the screws has actually broken in the zink metal in which case you will need a new base to repair it. the part can be found for about $50 dollars if you need to replace the bottom of the motor head. Takes about an hour to do and I would recommend a new gasket and new gear grease as long as you are inside. You can find a complete parts list at the kitcheaid site under the service and support tap

Just replaced planetary and gears, flat beater still heating bowl. is planetary to be loose or fit tight against mixer head?
The beater cannot "heat" the bowl, so I am going to assume that is a typing error, and you meant hitting. If the beater hits the bowl it is usually caused by the adjusting screw at rear of the column being improperly set. To correct this you need to turn the adjusting screw slightly to right, or left to adjust clearance. Clearance should be 1/16", about the thickness of a dime.If this does not fix the problem, and the beater still rubs the bottom of the bowl, it can be corrected by tapping the yoke arm with a mallet, there should be 1/16" clearance between bottom of bowl and end of the beater. You can determine the 1/16" by dropping a dime in the bowl, the flat beater should just "touch" the coin as the beater rotates. If you have questions feel free to call us @ the Mending Shed.Thank you,ColleenCustomer ServiceMendingShed.com800-339-9297
