KitchenAid KEBC208 Electric Double Oven Questions & Answers
Kitchenaid oven door will not stay closed
I had the same problem on my parents Kitchenaid KEMS378GWH0 oven, the door would only close enough to keep the light on. They propped a chair against it to cook. My father replaced the hinges and it worked for about a week. He noticed that pulling outward on the door at the very bottom edge often allowed it to close enough to use.
After completely dismantling the oven to get access to the brackets that the hinges slide into, we found it was not broken. We decided to expand on the only near solution we had and find a way to make the bottom of the door 'push out'. Our solution was very simple. Remove the small metal plate that covers the door insulation. This revealed that the insulation is a braided hollow rope that is held in by small clips that push through holes in the front of the oven. We threaded some small metal rods about 3/8 inch in diameter into the hollow insulation pushed the clips back in to re-attach the insulation, replaced the metal cover plate.
It worked!
After using self cleaning feature...oven door
Hello - we have had this same issue a number of times as well. Do you lose all power on the unit too? We do - have discovered that using the self-cleaning isn't really a good idea with these ovens. The ovens aren't really made to heat to such high heats that are used in the cleaning cycle and during that last hour of cleaning it hits it highest peak - and it blows it's fuses. We recently blew 2 fuses at the same time, locking both doors (Double oven) and knocking out the power for the entire unit. Our repair man said that the average on wall ovens is anywhere between 6 - 12 cleanings before you will blow the same fuses and the whole cycle starts all over again. Our expense was $350. So, self-cleaning now means elbow grease around this house. How this information was a bit helpful for you.

Kitchenaid superba failure codes e1,f2, and door is locked
Hi Bill:The E1F2 error code indicates replacing the
board. It is in the realm of possibilities that your new board is
defective. If I were certain the board was good I would focus my
efforts on tracking down an electrical fault. The likely failure is the control panel; however it could be the control board. Since you did replace the control board already, the problem is most likley a key pad that is sticking.I
added a portion of the technical data sheet in the image below. You
will need an ohm meter to be able to check the key pad operation. I
added the information needed in the image below. If the control panel
tests OK, replace the control board, if it fails, replace the control
panel. You may need a hands on tech to run these tests and diagnose and repair your oven. Or just buy the key pad controls. Check

there is a thermal fuse in the back or on top of the oven that is blown. its designed to blow if the oven gets too hot. you will have to remove the oven from the wall to check it. thats probably why kitchen aid wants to send someone out.

This problem is caused by defective material in the core
of the solenoid on the door latch. The solenoid works
properly at normal temperatures, and at the beginning of
a self-clean cycle. However, when heated, the plastic
core binds the metal plunger, and will not allow it to unlock
at the end of a cycle. Once cooled, the solenoid will
again work properly. When a technician inspects the
solenoid while it is cool, it will function normally.
SOLUTION: Replace the solenoid with service solenoid #4452224.
