Mongoose 26" Ledge 2.1 Mens Mountain Bike Questions & Answers
Front suspension
Not all front suspension forks are adjustable, but if yours is, you should find adjusting nuts on the shocks. Check with the manufacturer if in doubt.
I want to replace the derailleur what should i get
Any Shimano rear derailleur that is specific to the amount of cogs you have in the rear will work. Alivio is the entry into the nicer derailleurs. The more money you spend, the nicer they get: lighter, more machining, a more precise fit of parts.
Tighten front suspention on a Mongoose 26
Look for knobs on the tops of the suspension fork legs that will probably have a + and - sign on them. Turn them in the direction of the + (usually to the right) until you are satisfied. If you have already tried this or it doesn't give you adequate results; you may be stuck. You can occasionally find stiffer springs to put inside; but this is sometimes more costly than is desirable and a little more mechanically difficult to do on your own if you're not comfortable with disassembling and reassembling the fork.Just a guide though: ideal suspension firmness allows for some movement when you get on the bike and will use all of it's travel on the biggest bump you encounter.
