2 POSSIBLE PROBLEMS: 1ST - SPARK SWITCH ON ONE OF THE BURNERS GOT STUCK, OR 2ND - SPARK MODULE IS BAD. HERE IS THE VIDEO INSTRUCTION HOW TO DISASSEMBLE KITCHENAID COOKTOPS AND HOW TO REPLACE THOSE PARTS. HOPE IT HELPS.

IF YOU DONT HEAR IT CLICKS, MOST LIKELY PROBLEM IS WITH SPARK MODULE, IF YOU HEAR IT DOES CLICK, BUT GAS DOES NOT IGNITE, CHECK IF IGNITERS FOR CRACKS OF CERAMIC INSULATION, THEN ITS BAD IGNITER. IN SOME CASES IT MIGHT BE A SPARK SWITCH. JUST TAKE A LOOK AT THIS VIDEO, IT WILL GIVE YOU AN IDEA HOW THEY MADE, AND WHAT MIGHT BE WRONG. HOPE IT HELPS.

You are either: A) missing the mounting screws and brackets that hold the unit in place B) it is stuck and will require brute force to remove C) both

Is there directional grain..? I have removed small imperfection in stainless look by gengtly rubbing only in the same direction as the existing grain.. and be careful sometimes the repair is worse than the issue..

IF you can locate the model number tag (bottom left of dooropening) you can look up the manual at www.geappliances.com.
The only button on your stove that should make the door lock would be the cleanbutton (self clean model) if that is pressed simply hit the clear/off or cancelkey and wait for the door to unlock. IF the self clean option ran for an houror so, you will have to wait for the oven to cool down before the lock canun-lock (safety feature).

I believe your ignition switches have come in to contact with either water or moisture.

Please read my below Tip on how to fix the problem:

If it does not solve your problem, I'd suggest replacing the ignition switches.

You need to turn the nob away from the "LITE" setting. Gas cooktops don't have thermocouples, so they just keep clicking until you move the dial off of that setting.

On page 7, it reads as follows:

To Lock Cooktop: Touch and hold the CONTROL LOCK/
ALL OFF keypad for 5 seconds. After 5 seconds, CONTROL
LOCK will glow red, indicating that the cooktop touch controls
are in the lockout position.

To Unlock Cooktop: Touch and hold the CONTROL LOCK/
ALL OFF keypad for 5 seconds.

Hello. the ignitor most likely shorted out with that small flood of moisture. the fix is to replace the part. if you wish to do this your self you could go to searspartsdirect.com, enter the model number of the electric cooktop and get the complete parts diagrams. Joe

Hello,

Press "Start." Hold the button for 3 seconds or until the oven unlocks. Or unlock your oven by pressing and holding the "Clean/Off" button.

This is either a problem with one of the switches or the spark module. Check the switch by connecting an ohmeter to the leads going to the ignitor with the switch off no resistance (OL) and when turned on some resistance. Check each switch. If they all check out good replace the spark module. Make sure to label the wires when removing.To purchase these parts go to www.appliancehelponline.com and enter complete model #.
