Kitchen aid KECC507GBL3 electric 36in cooktop.

Hi,

If it’s a range, there is usually a couple of screws that hold the front of the top down, remove the screws, lift the front of the top and pull it out from the back hinges. Install the new top, make sure there are no loose wiring.
If it’s a cook top then make sure that the power to the cook top has been turned off, open the cabinet and look up. There should be a couple of brackets that secure the cook top. Remove the brackets, carefully lift the top and set it on the counter top (put a towel on the counter top first). replace the glass top (make sure there is no loose or exposed wiring), set the cook top back in the counter, secure it with brackets as was before, and double check your work.

Ticking sound on the gas top after burner is off.

Remove all the burners and thoroughly clean in warm to hot soap and water. Do the same for the burner seats on the cooktop.

Gas was turned off and igniters keep clicking?

As I did not see what occurred, I suspect that the tea kettle boiled over and sent water into the burners. The igniters kept clicking and I eventually turned the gas back on. Will have to replace one igniter which apparently went out and have to light it manually at this point.

Dual element stays on high

Replace your burner switch, order with model number, sometimes called an infinite switch. This is a common problem, although we suspect that power surges are causing some of these problems. Appliance Specialists

One burner igniter fails to spark after getting wet

Each burner has its own switch to direct current to the igniter. It appears that one of the four switches burned or shorted out, while the other three survived the flood. These switches are replaceable, so that's how I'll fix the problem.

Dead burner on kitchenaid gas cooktop?

it is strange that you have no gas and no spark! if you held a match to the burner and turned the burner valve on it would lite di spite a failed ignitor, but for it not to lite, the burner valve[its what the knob attaches too] would have to be blocked[thats rare]or ........i got it .....the knob is broken.thats the only thing the burner valve and the spark ignitor have in common.try a knob from another burner................again.you have spark, because others are working.spark on troubled burner would work if valve blocked at orifice outlet, and if spark failed you would still get gas they work independent of each other,[but in unison].thats why im thinking knob.its the item that works both .when you turn the knob it opens the gas valve and as the gas valve rotates by turning the knob it activates or turns the spark switch so it closes the curcit allowing the electricty to the spark moduel.hey i hope that helps a little. God bless ,tom

My defy slimline cooktop shows ER42 but I changed the capacitors, what is wrong?

The ER42 error code typically indicates an issue related to insufficient power being delivered to the ceramic element. Check Power Supply: Ensure that the cooktop is receiving adequate power. Verify that the power supply is stable and not fluctuating. Inspect the PCB (Printed Circuit Board): Since the error points to a fault on the PCB, visually inspect the control board for any signs of damage, loose connections, or burnt components. Capacitors: You mentioned that you've already changed the capacitors. While this is a good step, it's essential to ensure that the new capacitors are correctly installed with the same rating and polarity. Reset the Cooktop: Turn off the power to the cooktop completely. Disconnect it from the mains for a few minutes, then reconnect it and power it back on. Sometimes, a reset can clear minor glitches. No joy? Consider professional repair.

On my induction hob, 2 discs on the right side stopped working at the same time, I put the pan on and it shows as if it hadn't been detected, the same pan works on the remaining 2 discs on the left

A) https://hobguide.com/induction-hob-cannot-detect-pan/ B) https://hobguide.com/induction-hob-not-working-on-one-side/ You are advised to not try to get into the electronics of the induction hob. Such is dangerous. The unit uses 3 phase electricity, something unlikely to be addressed by DIY activity if you want to be safe. Check your warranty. I assume this is not a matter of pans of the wrong material or size being deployed. This well may require a technician to sort out. The brand/model has not been identified so I cannot direct you to further resources. Your user manual surely provides a company name where you might seek some customer support.

Jenn Air C221 element only goes to high?

Based on the symptoms described, it is possible that the issue lies with the ceramic element that the burners connect to at the back of the burner unit. This could be causing a short circuit between the two burners, which is preventing the large burner from being adjusted lower when both burners are on. It is also possible that there is an issue with the wiring or connections between the two burners, which is causing a similar short circuit. However, given that the smaller burner appears to be working fine, this seems less likely. Another potential cause of this issue could be a problem with the control board or another component of the stove's electrical system. However, given that replacing the infinite switch and receptacle for the large burner did not resolve the issue, it seems less likely that this is the root cause. In order to determine the exact cause of this issue, it may be necessary to consult with a professional appliance repair technician who can diagnose and repair the stove.

Domain ceramic cooktop cec70 will not turn off

If your ceramic cooktop model CEC70 is not turning off, there are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue: 1. Check the controls: Ensure that you have properly followed the instructions to turn off the cooktop. Some models may require you to press and hold a specific button or combination of buttons to power off the cooktop. Refer to the user manual for your specific model for detailed instructions on turning it off. 2. Power cycling: Try power cycling the cooktop by turning off the power at the circuit breaker or unplugging it from the power source. Leave it unplugged or with the power off for a few minutes before plugging it back in or turning the power back on. This can sometimes help reset the controls and resolve any temporary issues. 3. Control lock: Check if the cooktop has a control lock feature that might be activated. Some models have a lock function to prevent accidental changes to the settings. Look for a button or key combination that activates or deactivates the control lock. Refer to the user manual for instructions specific to your model. 4. Contact customer support: If the issue persists, it is recommended to reach out to the manufacturer's customer support or consult a professional technician who specializes in appliance repairs. They will be able to provide further guidance or arrange for a service visit to diagnose and fix the problem. Remember, when dealing with electrical appliances, it's always important to prioritize safety. If you encounter any unusual or potentially hazardous situations, such as smoke, sparks, or strong odors, immediately turn off the power supply and contact a professional technician for assistance.
