Compressor does not want to start.

If the compressor will not kick on what you have is either a bad compressor or a bad starting device. Generally the unit will try and start and after 8 seconds or so you will hear a loud tick. That indicates the relay is bad. If the compressor is bad it will usually make a loud humming noise.

The start device is plugged into the side of the compressor. Unplug the frig. You can simply take off the wires to the start device (remember where they go!!!!!) and pull it off. You have two piece, the overload and the relay. The relay is the piece that is most likely the problem. Some machines will have these put together in a white plastic block. You can shake this entire piece and if you hear loud rattling it is broken. Sometimes the relay is visibly burned and blacked where it plugs into the compressor. Anyway, if you do not have this white plastic relay/overload combo, the relay is a brown square shaped plastic piece. Shake it and see if you hear rattling. If not, chances are very good the relay is ok, and the compressor is locked up.

Compressor changes are expensive and unless the frig is extremely nice and cost a pretty penny, they aren't worth fixing. Relays and overloads should not break $100 for the parts, and any tech should be able to change one in under 10 minutes. So if it's a relay fix that puppy! good luck :D

P.S. In a RARE occasion the frig may use a capacitor, and the capacitor may be bad. The only way to check is with a multimeter or replace the capacitor and see if it fixed it. This is highly unlikely and therefore not checking from the beginning.

Kenmore Refrigerator 795.75004401. The freezer seems to be working fine but the fridge part is not. Checked the condenser coils and they are free of dust. The condenser fan is working as well.

Turn it off by removing the wall plug for 10 minutes. This will do a power rest to the control electronics. This is a bottom mounted freezer, so cold air for the fridge is vented upwards by a fan. Make sure it is running and there are no ice blockages. Strangely they call the fan in the fridge an Refrigerator Evaporator Fan Motor. The part is obsolete anyway. If it normally says 4 for the fridge, that would be 4 degrees Centigrade, which means the freezer should show minus 18'C. Or 36'F Fridge / 0' F Freezer/ This shows all the parts. https://www.searspartsdirect.com/model/3tradtge4f-000582/kenmore-79575004401-bottom-mount-refrigerator-parts ..

Is there a flapper at the bottom of the defrost line that can get plugged. it's a Kenmore Coldspot. What else can I use other than hot water to clear the drain.

Not normally a flapper. There is a trap on the rear outside cabinet just below the level of the freezer. Remove it and soak in hot water and bleach for 20 minutes, then flush all the debris out, shake it dry and reinstall. ..

Put some Vaseline on the O-Ring to help it slide into place. Make sure it is properly inserted at the beginning. If the filter is located inside the refrigerator:
  1. Turn off the ice maker.
  2. Push the eject button.
  3. Pull the filter out of the housing.
  4. Push the new filter into the housing until it clicks.
  5. Turn on the ice maker.
  6. Run 2 gallons of water through the water dispenser to purge air and residue.

What is the cubic feet inside of the kenmore refrigerator 10674254400?

Kenmore appliance model numbers have a three digit prefix (106 in this case) for the manufacturer. The rest of the model number indicates a lot of the specifics for the refrigerator. The third digit is the second group indicates the capacity. This fridge is a 22 cubic foot model (or slightly smaller). I hope this helps. Thanks so much for answering my question on my Kenmore Coldspot Refrigerator Model 10674254400! You said it was 22 cu ft. Is that the total cu ft. for both the freezer and the refrigerator.

Hello Linda. This should be below my Answer rather than being a new Question. This post has no context to the previous question and my answer. I just happened to see it, but if you clicked Comment under my answer, I would get a notification and come back to help. If I hadn't seen it and someone had answered it with 'not sure what you mean', it would have vanished off the Homepage as Solved and I would never have seen it. I was just copying Cindy Wells answer, but yes, it is the total cubic feet of both the refrigerator and freezer combined. https://www.fixya.com/users/linda-adamski ..

My Kenmore Trio refrigerator (#596.76502500)

The fan that blows cold air from the freezer to cool the refrigerator is not working. If your a little handy with tools its an easy fix. Its located in the freezer. Open your freezer door take off the steel panel at the back of the inside of the freezer. After you remove the panel you will see the fan the blows the cold air up to the Frig. A quick trip to a local appliance store for a new fan with do the trick. Put in the new fan 100% fixed even better than new because the orginal part is defective Kenmore should have recalled them. I have the same frig and its been perfect since I repaced my failed fan.
