A. By Using the Motherboard Jumper:
In most motherboards CMOS battery is soldered, which makes it difficult to remove the battery. In this case we use another method.
Almost all motherboards contain a jumper that can clear all CMOS settings along with the BIOS password. The location of this jumper varies depending upon the motherboard brand. You should read your motherboard manual to check its location. If you don't have the manual then look for the jumpers near the CMOS battery. Most of the manufacturer label the jumper as CLR, CLEAR, CLEAR CMOS, etc.
When you find the jumper, look carefully. There will be 3 pins and the jumper will be joining the center pin to either left or right pin. What you need to do, is remove the jumper and join the center pin to the opposite pin. e.g. if the jumper joins center pin to left pin, then remove it and join center pin to right pin. Now wait for a few seconds and then again remove the jumper and join the center pin to left pin.
Make sure to turn the PC off before opening the cabinet and resetting the jumper.

contact dell support and give them the asset tag / serial number of the laptop and they will be able to tell you a back door hard drive password which you can use to reset the hard drive password.

Try installing the LAN and wireless drivers.You can download the LAN, Wireless and device drivers from Dell WEB site, the support download page. Make sure you select your model desktop or laptop, better still, type in the Service Tag number, it is printed on the label on the bottom of the laptop and on the back or sides of a desktop. (If the Service Tag label is missing then go into the BIOS setting and on one of the BIOS pages, the Service Tag number will be displayed). What do you mean? Does it freeze? does it just go straight onto the operating system? Because it is possible to turn the logo off in the BIOS.

The issue could be due to a loose connection of the camera above the lcd panel. Try uninstalling the drivers and shutting down the computer. Once done gently press the area around the webcam. Power on th computer. See if you get any new hardware and if it installs. If no. check in device manager. If you still have a bang on the webcam uninstall all usb root hubs and restart the computer. If still no joy power off the computer. You need to hold down the Fn button (Located next to the CTRL button on the left hand corner) and then power on the system. This will take the system to the diagnostics mode. After running the tests run a custo tests on the webcam.
