Web search "adjust threadless stem"
In anticipation of your next question...

A major limitation is the steerer tube length. No matter how many times you cut a steerer tube it won't get longer.
Getting Riser Bars or simply flipping the stem over or getting one with a different rise and reach might give you the added height you need. If you LIKE the handlebars, the stem is the best and least-invasive option as most new ones come with front loaders (detachable front caps) that allow replacement without stripping components off one side of the handlebar. In minutes a Bicycle Shop could swap any number of them onto your bike for you to try.
A reputable Bicycle Shop would have fit the bike to you before you took it home.
I have a mens schwinn
The most secure and sway-free type would be one that bolts to the bike at at least three points, not simply clamping the seatpost.
Blackburn and Topeak make some nice ones. They mostly bolt to those pre-drilled holes above and behind the rear axle and most say what wheel-size bike they will fit plus they have a range of adjustment (usually via bendable metal braces) for reaching that key third point near the top of the seatstays or brake bridge.

It sounds like the spacers for your Aheadset-style stem might be the two identical 'thick washers' to position it higher or lower, but if you value your life you'll take all the parts to a local bike shop and get them to explain how it all fits together properly.
Can i upgrade the read wheel? I've broken two
Have a look at your spokes and see if they are thicker at the ends.If they are not, then they might be a straight gauge spoke which are cheaper, therefore probably prone to braking especially when you weigh 275.I would ask a bike shop about getting double butted spokes.(thicker ends). And just another piece of info for you. When people buy a bike....the thing your suppose to do is take bike to the shop a month or so later and get the spokes retensioned.Just part of the wearing in process. But YES you can upgrade the wheel itself. But you must go for DOUBLE BUTTED SPOKES.THANKS
Looking for advice on Schwinn Midmoor bike?
I could not find a weight limit specified anywhere, but it is designated as a man's bike and that should cover up to at least 250 pounds. However, the reviews state things like flimsy, and recommended for light (500 miles a year) riding. 240 pounds will probably stress it quite a bit. You might want to look for something more sturdy. If price is a consideration try craigslist for a used electric or hybred.
I have a Schwinn Midmoor Hybrid bike. The problem
You need to replace the headset bearings. Very simple job but you will need some grease.
Undo the brake lines from the levers and remove handle bars from the stem and set aside. Undo the top bolt on the stem, this will loosen it and pull it out of the headset.
Use a large jaw spanner to undo the headset locking top nut. Remove that and the washer, until you see the ball bearing race.
Remove and check for damage. If any balls are missing or are crushed/damaged, you need a new set. Clean the headset area of old grease and refit with plenty of thick grease.
Refit all of the parts and refit handle bars.
Vote for me if this helps you. Thanks! :)
Will this bike fit me my inseam is 32
Measure the center pipe from the sprocket to the seats mounting hardware stem. Allow 5 inches for the legs to pedal so the center frame bar must be 27 inches or less for you to ride this bike correctly
Axle short and cant loosen 1 nut
Have a look at this site:http://www.parktool.com/repair/readhowto.asp?id=105 You'll need at least one cone wrench as they are thinner. A number 15 if I remember correctly.
Men?s Schwinn 700C Prelude Road Bike Assembly
Pedals can be purchased in pairs and some road bikes do not come with pedals. They have 2 different axle sizes 9/16" and 1/2". There are road pedals and road clipless pedals. The ones with clips and quick bindings require special biking shoes that the cleats clip into.Quick releases come in various lengths for front and rear wheels depending on what wheel you have. This all means a trip to your local bicycle dealer. They will match the pedals to the axel size you need and the type of riding you will be doing. For a little extra cost they will install them. They will also match you up with the proper length of quick release skewer you will need and show you how to install and tighten it properly.Remember to take your bike and the front wheel. Hope this helps. Good riding.
Gears will not shift to first gear
It sounds like the limit screws on the derailleur are out of adjustment. If the derailleur cant pobbible move any farther towards the 3rd gear and the cable has slack in it then we know for a fact that the limit screws are to blame.
If you can move the derailleur with your hand past the 3rd gear then we know the cable needs to be adjusted. I would recommend taking it to a bike shop as those index shifters do take a bit of work to adjust correctly.
What is the wheel circumference of older 1988 AirDyne to use for bike computer to replace Schwinn ergometer?
The wheel circumference of a 1988 Schwinn AirDyne exercise bike may vary depending on the specific model and tire size. To determine the wheel circumference for your bike computer, you'll need to measure it directly. Here's how you can do it:
- Measure the Tire Diameter: Lift the front wheel of the bike off the ground so it's freely spinning. Use a tape measure to measure the diameter of the tire from one side to the other. Make sure you measure the actual tire, not the rim.
- Calculate the Circumference: Once you have the diameter in millimeters, you can calculate the circumference using the formula: Circumference (mm) = ? (pi) x Diameter (mm).
- You can approximate ? as 3.14 for simplicity.
- Convert to Centimeters or Meters: To make it more compatible with most bike computers, you might want to convert the circumference from millimeters to centimeters or meters.
