How to put air in the tires the stems are
Your bike tube has Presta style valves. Automotive style valves are known a schraders. To inflate the tube, you will need either an adapter, presta to schrader or a hand pump that has a head for presta valves. Any bike shop will have one for sale. To fill the presta valve style, remove the black cap(if it is there) You will see little stem with a small knurled nut. Screw the nut all the way up until it stops. Put the pump head over the stem, making sure it is pushed down. Flip up the lever on the pump head, fill to desired pressure 100 to 120psi...yes, that much pressure, it's a road bike. Flip the lever on the pump head down and remove it from the stem. The PSST you will hear is the air from the line on the pump...not the tire. Screws the knurled nut down and replace the black cap. If you do not srew the little nut down and push on the stem you will let the air out of the tire. If you need more help, you can email me @
[email protected] and I will send you pictures of the process, or the staff at your local bike shop should be able to show you how.
How do I move the breaks
I assume you want to move the brake levers to another position on the handlebar. Don't - they are where they belong. Your local bike shop or library bike book can show you how to use them properly. Either may suggest you use a different style of handlebar; listen to their reasons and make up your own mind. Finally, the cable from each lever runs underneath the handlebar padding or tape; if you want to move the lever more than a fraction, remove that tape. Then find the shallow groove on the outer side of the lever body, underneath the rubber lever hood - use a 4 mm allen down that groove to loosen the attachment band
GMC Denali road bike starts wailing
Bearings in themselves arent that expensive [at all] and you could probably spend $5 for a set of new ones, but if the bike has been wailing for a while, you might want to make sure the friction between the bad bearings and the inside walls of the hub and Cone, hasnt ruined the whole build. because if they have then buying an new hub [$20 - 50 depending on the quality] would be a better option. And if you know how to untie everything you could just run your fingers through to check for any uneveness or bumps, otherwise asking a bike repair guy to help could be a just as good option
My back brakes do not retract open after
More then likely it is just a lubrication issue. Cables and housings need to be lubricated when they malfunction as such. Just a touch of lightwieght oil in the housing will work wonders. Also try lubricating all pivot points on the actual brake arms themselves.
Remember to use a bike specific lub and dont get any on the contacting surfaces of the brake pads......not a good thing at all.
Shift Bicycle Gears
To shift gear properly, while riding the bike you be sure you are turning the paddles, and shift the gear.
Try to avoid shifting gears while riding standing up, this stress the gear system.
Install spear pump
Sounds like the braze ons, that's what they're called, are broken in the frame. Only thing left is to drill them out and replace them with Rivnuts. Your local bike shop should be able to handle that.

Tomahawk E Series Exercise bike loud peddling sound
Standard WD40 is just a 'quick fix' as it isn't an actual oil unless the can is clearly labelled as "Bike All Condition Lubricant". It'll be best to buy a proper light oil like 3in1, 151 Super oil or an actual chain lube.
This 'clickey' noise. Is it random and happening every so often or is it a constant, regular click that changes with the speed your pedalling at? Check for slack in the chain. as you wiggle the chain up and down there should only be about a centimetre of movement in the chain. If it's too slack or too tight it can make strange noises. Check the axle bolts and nuts to make sure they're not loose. Check the wheel is mounted straight. If it's turned left or right the chain will 'skip' as it's slightly missing the cog teeth on the wheel. Use the frame at the rear end of the wheel as reference and measure how far the side of the wheel is from the frame on both sides. It should be about the same both sides.

New Balance 6100 Recumbent Bike making a clanking noise when pedaling
I have done a tremendous amount of research on this problem. New Balance (Fitness Quest) is out of business as of late 2012 and no parts are available. The main bearing or crank bearing set is 100% compatible with Proform part number 295560. Since New Balance put their name on this product, they have stated they will reimburse customers for the repairs.
