Sounds like the cable is too small. If you're hooking it up to 15 amp breaker you need the correct diameter size extension cord, and the equipment cannot be rated more than 15 amp or you'll have a problem. I perceive this may be the solution based on the fact that you said that the motor was not coming up to speed.

I personally would not do it.

A good standard 90 wt oil is what is ok for the gearcase. This is an old email from a hobart service tech and they recomend a special oil ordered from them. So you can decide which you want to use. "EXXON SPARTAN EP-150 (6 oz)" in the M802 planetary. Hobart part #102973-13. This IS NOT a food grade oil. If you mixer is leaking you shouldhave it serviced. It sounds like you are having a problem with you Hobart P660, everytime you run it trips the breaker. Sounds like the switch is shorting out. You need to replace the switch and that should solve the problem that you are having.
