Motor growls when switched on.
The armature is hitting on the field shoes from misalignment of the end caps and or bearings.. When the power is applied the armature instead of spinning is attracted to the metal shoes of the fields and is touching and shorting out.
Guard spring replace
springs are available from the manufacture spares places or from a hardware store. Any spring of the same size and length will do the job.
Saw growling
the problem is poling and that means the armature is touching the field shoes and is shorting out. If you have replace d the field coils then may be the shoes have not been fitted in tightly enough and the clearance is not as it should be. Worn bushes or bearings will give the same effect as when the current is on the armature is pulled to the shoe.. Ensure that the end caps are fitted correctly to ensure alignment and tighten the screws evenly around the case.
How do u unlock a
slightly push down on the handle, then look directly over the top at where swivel spring is either on the left or right side , there is going to be a pull pin, it will only pull out far enough for the handle to go up and down, its not suppose to come all the way out
