You can find the bios flash the manufacturers site. But your system might already have the latest bios so be careful. You screw up the bios and you're toast.

Get onlineand got to www.google.com In the google search box type: "HPSupport" (without the quotes and put your manufacturer name before Support). Look for downloads and drivers. Enter your model number and operatingsystem when requested. Download and install the Bios drivers. You will have to flash the bios. Look on the site for manuals to search for flashing the bios.
Also look at the bios version that is on the website to download, you might already be at that version.

Very simple, first take backup of all your Data on a Separate Hard Drive or CD, DVD, BluRay or Pen Drive etc. Afterwards, use your Operating System disk (that you're going to use after formatting), as you insert Operating System CD/DVD in your CD/DVD Drive, you'll get options out of which one would be suggesting you to format your Hard Disk, In Format Options, you'll get two sub options or even more, better and safe to choose default option (On which the cursor automatically sets before you choose, but if uncomfortable, call your Computer Service Center). As you hit that option, you'll find your Hard Drive getting formatted and after that, your computer will prompt you with Operating System Installation options.

And if you're about to format a Hard Drive, but not to setup an Operating System on it, even easier: After Backup of your data on that Hard Drive, just right click its icon and choose Format and you'll be able to do so after a few options.

Also, you can learn from Help and Support Section.

Try these steps first.
  1. HP players usaully pop out. There should be a release underneath the unit (may have a screw). Re-seat the player, and check.
  2. Make sure it has power (ejects). Check Device Manager in Safe Mode by pressing F8 during boot. Right click My Computer > Manage. Select Device Manager > View > Show Hidden Devices. Now delete all DVD/CD-ROMs and reboot. Windows will say "New Hardware Found" and install.
  3. Check BIOS by pressing F key (correct F key is noted during boot) and make sure BIOS see's the Optical Drive.
  4. Check part number and order a replacement.

Most of the boot up of problem because of hardware problem, registry missing or crashed, file deleted or changed.
You can boot up your Windows with Tenorshare Data Recovery WinPE.It allows users to burn ISO file to CD/DVD/USB flash drive directly.
Step 1: Download Tenorshare Data Recovery WinPE in any available computer (not from PC that can't boot up). Then launch it.

Step 4: Use the arrow keys to select Boot tab, select Boot Device Priority and press Enter. Please choose 1st Boot Device to USB, and then press F10 to save setting. Now,you can boot up your PC.

A DVD player that is an integral part of the laptop does not need drivers to make it play discs. If there is no driver shown, maybe the DVD unit is faulty?
All laptops will play CD/DVD from boot without drivers. The drivers are there to allow you to do specifics to the DVDs.
