Best suggestion is to back up your files and reinstall the OS.If it freezes while idle, some necessary data is most likely corrupted.Force shut downs often cause system files to corrupt.

Instead of re-installing the Operating System you can do an Operating System repair. Boot to the Windows Operating System installer disc,. If you have XP, boot to the XP installer disc then enter the setup program. There will be an option that says "Press R to Repair Computer". Press letter R then let the setup finish. For Vista/7, boot to the installed disc then select "Startup Repair" This will repair all corrupted Windows file and will keep your data intact,

Hope this help.

Cant reset my toshibia satellite

Hello

the windows xp setup probably has cleared out the hard drive and there is no recovery partition anymore, so there is no way to restore the laptop without a windows vista setup DVD.

you can not restore anymore without any other way.

Either obtain a windows installation DVD, or contact toshiba to get recovery media discs.

My Toshiba Satellite's motherboard needs

You will have to contact Toshiba's support for that. You can check your warranty here, and if it's ok, they should be able to repair it for you. Otherwise, manufacturers make their own custom motherboards, so it's highly unlikely you'll be able to replace it on your own.
