I believe the L35 uses what is considered a satellite power jack which means the actual jack is not soldered to the motherboard but uses a cable and plug, therefore is the easiest of the power jack repairs. The cable can be found on ebay for around 30 bucks or less. I usually charge 50 bucks for the labor plus the part, the laptop has to be disassembled to complete the repair. Check ALL the cables, and reseat, from your ISP modem and Wireless device. Is the Toshiba near the wireless? Is it Secured with a Password? How many devices are on the wireless signal? There are many thing that cause loss of signal, interference, distance, walls, signal overloading, outside equipment. If you have other devices connected, do they lose signal? If all inside equipment checks out OK, contact your ISP , have them verify the signal or have a ISP tech come out th analize the signal.

I think that the first thing you should check is the display itself. Connect the laptop to an external monitor to see if you get video output.
Also, be sure you haven't accidentally turned the video off using the Fn plus special function key combo that switches displays between the laptop and external.

try first your laptop without using your laptop screen. remove laptop screen and testing display output from your CRT or LCD monitor. if display comes out, try to check your inverter.

Start taking your laptop apart piece by piece and test it after each removed component:
1. Remove the hard drive and test the laptop.
2. Remove the DVD drive and test the laptop.
3. Remove the wireless card and test the laptop.
4. Unplug the display panel from the motherboard/video card and test the laptop.
etc....
Continue taking it apart until you have only three major components connected: motherboard (with video card), processor, and memory. If you still experience the same problem, most likely it's bad motherboard.
By the way, before you start, try reconnecting the memory module. If you have two modules installed, try removing them one by one and test the laptop with each one separately.

If you have a LCD-screen, not an old-style CRT-screen, it is the data-cable, and its connections, that are not transmitting one of the 3 "primary" colours, e.g., mix red & blue & green to get white,
but mix only two of those colours, and you could get pink,
because the mixing is an "additive" process.

If you mix NONE of the 3 primary colours, you should get BLACK.
If you see GREEN, you're seeing ONE of the primary colours.

No manufacturers password that I have ever heard of but you can remove your keyboard and disconnect the mother board (BIOS) battery. Leave it disconnected for a few minutes. When reconnected the password should be gone. A few laptops actually have a jumper to do this.

A disk error means your hard drive has failed. You will need to replace it. This model laptop uses a Serial ATA model drive.
Your operating system that boots the laptop is stored on this drive.

To fix it, just find and press the "Num Lk" or "Pad Lk" key again. (Note, sometimes these keys are themselves "Fn" keys, so you may, or may not, need to also hold down the "Fn" key to get the right function.) Often there is an indicator light associated with the setting.

Its a loop back problem might as well try to access F12 or F8 for safe mode if it cant the Program is corrupted proceed to Recovery Installation with your cd.

you may have lost your hard drive. always best to back up your files and os on an external drive. if you have a recovery disc try to boot it

yes it does . If you can barely see your desktop, then it is the inverter board. If not, then it's your LCD.

Windows Start-up Errors
Step one, you need a Windows Installation CD. If you only have a recovery disk set like the ones from HP or Compaq they will not do what you need done. Under normal circumstances however, you can use a Dell disk because the Operating system is on a stand-alone disk. All retail versions are also acceptable as well as upgrade disks. For a rule of thumb, if the disk has the Microsoft hologram it should work. You can order a boot up floppy disk from here:

Now make sure your computer boots to the cd rom first. If you know how to do this skip on down, if you don’t, while the computer is first starting up and you see the manufacturers splash screen, tap F12 (some computers it’s F9, others it may be another key, you may have to watch and see if the computer lists the key strokes for getting to the boot menu. If you still cannot find it, boot into the BIOS settings and change your boot order there. Save your settings and exit, the computer will now seek the cd rom as its boot source first.
Place your Windows disk in the computer and start it up. When you see the test at the top of the page “Press Any Key To Boot From CD” Just hit the space bar to activate. The next screen you will see will most likely be a Windows setup screen, when you see this press the “R” key to get to the recovery console. It will get there, it may take a little time, patience. Once it loads you will be given a choice of Windows installations, there should only be one, if there are more, always pick number one. It may ask for an administrators password, if you have not set this particular password, then just leave it blank and press enter. The next prompt you see is:
C:\Windows>
You need to type the following:
cd \
hit enter. Pay close attention to the spacing between the characters. There is a space between the character “d” and the “\”
You are now at the ROOT of the drive, this is where basic commands can be given and changed. You should now see the following:
C:\>
Now type the following:
CHKDSK /R
Hit the enter key.
The chkdsk /r command also includes the P command and will also look for lost recoverable information in bad sectors.
There are occasions depending on how corrupt the system is, that this process could take several hours, so be patient with it.
Now, after chkdsk has run type the following:
FIXBOOT
Hit the enter key.
It may prompt you with a warning, that’s ok, just continue. When fixboot has finished, type: EXIT hit enter and windows will reboot. When the system reboots, tap the F8 key during this time and you will see the multi-boot menu come up. Scroll to the title “Last Know Good Configuration” and hit the enter key. If you were having some simple drive errors this should have fixed them.

Either you have a memory issue or operating system problem.

First, try reseating (removing and reinserting) your memory (try one module at a time to test).

If still a problem, boot your system to Safe Mode (press F8 repeatedly). Go to System Restore and choose a date when your system worked OK. Note: with System Restore, everything, including your documents and other files you saved on the hard drive, will roll back to that date.

If still not resolved, you'll probably need to reinstall your operating system.
