How to remove startup password

If it's a Bios Password, then you can remove the power cord, remove the case, turn the computer on it's side and look for the CMOS battery. It is a silver battery on the motherboard about the size of a nickel. Use a small flat head screw drive to pop it out. Let the computer sit for an hour or two then put the battery back in and reboot. The date, time and password will be forgotten by the system, so you will have to go into the Bios or System Setup to put the date and time back in.If it is a Hard Drive Password, you are out of luck. 99% of the time when you encounter a computer with a Hard Drive Password on it, the computer is stole. The original owner set it so that in the event the computer is stolen, thieves can't get to sensitive data. The owner could possibly set it remotely after it was stolen. The only way to remove it is have the original owner put in the password,or like you did when you put in another hard drive. Putting in another hard drive in most cases you will have to reload the operating system, drivers and application programs.

Ask for password to unlock system

Just hit the set up key as your machine boots up, usually, F2-F3 or F8.

Go to safe mode using the up-down arrows and where it says set/change password, simply hit the enter button, enter a new password in and close, using the save function.

You can now use that new password and are now officially the administrator!

Or else, you need some Windows password reset program to help you do that job.

I need to restore it

If you don't have a recovery disk, which they usually don't provide anymore, you can make one if the computer is still working properly. Type" recovery disk" into help & it should walk you thru it. Otherwise you can call or email the maker of the computer, which I think is gateway & order one. Then put it in the computer, restart & it should walk itself thru. You make have to go to setup when the computer first boots up & make sure it goes to the dvd drive first.

I DONT KNOW HOW TO PUT THE CARD IN IT

Tiffano,
You have not specified what card you want inserted. Anyway.

Please remove the 3 screws at the back of the PC on the right side of the PC as you face to back. This will enable you to remove the cover thus exposing the innards of the PC. You will find at least one slot empty for a cord to be inserted. Insert the card with its contact lugs towards the motherboard and the metallic strip towards the back.. Fit it properly and tighten the screw on top of the metallic strip to the body of the computer. Once done, screwup the side plate of the PC and turn it around to face you. Now insert the CD that came with the card and install the card.
Now you are ready to use the card.

There is no signal getting to from my computer to

It is the video card!
So, when you plug the monitor in to the rear of the eMachine case, do you connect it in the aread where the keyboard mouse and USB and sound conntors are OR do you connect to the area when all the expansion slot covers are?

If you answered YES to the first part of the question, then the video signal comes from an 'integrated' video card that is part of the mainboard. This is bad. Contact eMachines in order todetermine if the system will allow a video card to be installed in an expansion slot...

If the second part of the quetion is YES, this is better. You can replace the video card andprobably be OK. Get you teenager to open up the case and pull out the video card. You need a new one but they come in multiple 'types' so you need some to have look at it and sell you another compatible one.

Java is your first problem get rid of that malware... second problem is you don't have a mac, haha, just kidding, but seriously get one.
To answer your question, I would try uninstalling your add ons 1 or 2 at a time to see which one will fix er back up. If that does not work, get Revo uninstaller from download.com and use it remove firefox (and java) completely. You can download the newest version any time for free. Personally I dont like a lot of background processes so I use the portable version of firefox which is also free.

Unable to change color depth...

Ok I think i found your problem. You don't need to install any drivers.

Switch your display to 256 colors To switch your display to 256 colors
Some games and other software programs require that your monitor be set to 256 colors, or they run better in 256 colors. Many of those programs will switch your monitor to 256 colors automatically when you start the program. For those that don't, follow the steps below if you want to switch the display temporarily while the game or program is running.
  1. On your desktop or on the Start menu, right-click the game or other program that you want to run in 256 colors, and then click Properties.
  2. Click the Compatibility tab.
  3. Select the Run in 256 colors check box.
  • The screen will revert to your default color quality when you close the program.
  • Try switching to 256 colors if your software program shows the wrong color or the graphics redraw slowly.
  • If your software program appears in a small window in the center of your screen, you can increase its size by changing your screen resolution temporarily. Follow the procedure above, but in step 3 select the Run in 640x480 screen resolution check box. Your screen resolution will revert to its previous resolution when you close the program.
  • The Compatibility tab is available only for programs or games located on your computer's hard disk. It is not available if the program is stored on a floppy disk, compact disk, or a network.
Please rate this if it fix your issue
