Problem pixma ip 4600.

Cleaning ink cartridges takes up a lot of ink. So, you may be out of ink in the respective ink jet cartridges that supply ink for the colors which are missing. Try new ink cartridges.

Canon printer ip4600, not printing,

Hello, thank you for using Fixya
5C00 is a purge unit error
This error code tells that the purge unit did not complete a good power on cycle and the cam is not in the correct position. In typical words that means the purge unit is stuck extended due to accumulation of a lot of dried up ink.
To solve it follow this
  • Open the cover and when the head comes to the center, pull the power cord.
  • Once that power is off you can now move the carriage to the far left so it is out of the way.
  • Now use a paper towel and gently blot all the excess ink off of the ink Pads and press them down. If the Wiper blade is extended, clean it and it should snap back in position.
  • If it is still stuck, try spraying the area with Windex but don't get any on anything except the pads.
If you have any fear to do this then best option is to take it back where you purchased it or contact Canon service center about the error code. They will surely solve it.

For further assistance, I am here to help.
Your token of appreciation by Rating my solution will be esteemed
Thanks and Keep Visiting FixYa

Photos print with a faint 'pinstripe' effect

that could be head alignment (most noticible on low quality settings .. there is a procedure for aligning the heads ... or it could be clogged nozzles
to check these things start to print something
then select preferences .. then maintainence then
you have a choice .. nozzle check should be done first .. if all nozzles are working then go to "head alignment" and follow instructions there .. if some nozzles are not working then run the "cleaning" utility . sometimes it needs to do that several times .. if you cant get all nozzles working then you can try "deep cleaning" that uses lots of ink so you dont want to do that often ... if that doesnt work then you need new heads .. the heads in many pixma printers are easily replacable but costly ..
if all the nozzles are working and head alignment was done but you still have faint lines then try "high quality mode" .. in that mode you should not see any lines ..

My Canon PIXMA iP4600 keeps

I am sorry to say that you will need a new printhead and main logic board to solve this error. What has probably happened is the printhead has shorted the logic board. So unfortunately you MUST replace both together. I think this may be rather expensive.

Sorry.

Cannon IP4600 Printer makes terrible

Well whenever a printer makes a "Terrible Noise" this is usually the print head chattering against the stop, this is a fault that isn't recoverable by simply turning Off & On again. This unit will have to be repaired before it will function properly again.

This condition can happen for many reasons, one thing to check, is the head position sensor, as if this fails or is occluded, this will cause the symptoms you describe. But as related it maybe many things one simply has to troubleshoot to attempt to isolate it.
The very best thing you can do IF you wish to DIY, is to use the service manual's troubleshooting procedures, to isolate and hopefully remedy the issue.

Above is your user manual below is your service manual.

However if you do NOT wish to DIY, then the best thing you can do is take the printer to a printer repair shop, and ask for a "Quote" only first, then go from there once appraised of the information.
