Brother DCP 165C Compact Color Inkjet Multifunction Printer - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
...UNABLE TO CLEAN error code 50'' my printer is
The hard drives are in a USB externa enclosure, set up as RAID 1 and are formatted as Mac OS Extended (Journaled). I do not save any TM back ups to them and they work after a restart and then sometime later start to provide the error message anytime I try to save to them. A restart usually fixes the issue for a finite period of time. Disk Utility runs and tells me the disks are fine. I never have trouble accessing data from them.

Well i have found out a perfect way to solve this problem. It worked for me so I'll be hoping it works for you too
This is how you have to do it. You need to enable WIA - Windows Image Acquisition. now to do that follow these steps.
1. Click on start or the Window thingy.
2. Type Services or Services.msc in the search part.
3. Now scroll to the following services in the window that got opened.
Remote Procedure Call (RPC)
DCOM Server Process Launcher
RPC Endpoint Mapper
Shell Hardware Detection
Enable those services. To do so right click on them, click properties and make it automatic. Once you enable all of them start them. After all the services are started scroll for "Windows Image Acquisition" make this automatic too and start it. Just reboot your PC and you should be good to roll :D.
Scan all you want :) Problem solved.

Give me solutation of errore 36
Hi,
That error 36 - means "Head/carriage unit travel error" , if the printer is still under warranty, have it serviced. But if its out of warranty try to find any obstacles on the travel path of the head/carriage unit. If you cant find anything, it only means you need to replace some parts.
1. carriage PCB
2. head/carriage unit
3. CR encoder strip
4. carriage motor
5. main PCB
6. power supply PCB
7. maintenance unit

You have to open the scanner as if you were changing the cartridge.
There is a "-----;-" cover which hides the flatcable. Remove this cover
and reinsert the flat cable to the mainboard by simply sticking it into
position. May or may not work, it may have wiggled loose.
