Hi.

The illegal operation just means that it tried to do something and it was not programmed for that site or that function. It could be just a glitch but if the unit truly is screwed up i would suggest that you re-install the software.

To fix this you will need to reload ALL the files back to the memory card.

Make sure you did a backup when the device was working properly.

Transfer the old backup files to a computer.

Format card using FAT option, not FAT32.

Then manually transfer the files back onto the formatted sd card.

This should work.

Go to Tools...Settings....Volume....check your Master / Nav/Media volume control there

Throw it out. They only have problems! I know this doesnt help you but Im so angry with this stupid company who cannot help their customers operate the devices!

I too have a Navigon and suggest you go to their website, probably Navagon.com. They can sell you a battery. If not, go to Amazon.com and key in Navagon.

The only way to restore it is to return it to the manufacturers representative. Not all of CE5 is installed, only certain parts of it and unless you know what parts and how to follow the correct sequence you will be going around in circles forever. bite the bullet and take it to the professionals.
