If you want to turn the power off, just pull the plug.
The unit should reset itself once it is plugged in again.

Try pulling the plug out as this may reset the unit.

could be a few problems or just a single one.
I will suggest the simple one first.... get a new battery
they shouold last 2-3 years but seldom do because of the way people use(abuse) them ALL gps should be charged fully on an AC charger and run in the car on the DC powere AFTER the engine has been started. remove plug when stopping the engine to do shopping and only reconnect it whenh the engine is again running. doing this prevents battery shock and protects the SIIRF chip from damage by spikes. the siirc chip is what connect to sattelites for you.

If when connected to the AC chareger for 10 minutes you can turn it on ( whilst still connjected to charger) and program it that willo confirm that the battery is the culprit.If you cannot
get display and function whilst on charger then the problem is serious and also expensive to repair.

try and get your money back!!
GPS should a signal in a couple of minutes,they can be slow on occasion,but yours sounds like it's dead.

hope you used a credit card,at least then you have a little more leverage if you dispute the charge.

The software on the micro sd card is corrupted. You need to get a new software image

You cannot use a non-oem cord

hit the reset untill the music plays

go to navigons website and download it from there

Try pushing the side "reset" button with a paperclip or pen. It worked for me.

all yo have to do is push with a paperclip the reset button on the side of the gps unit. mine does it once a month sometimes 3 and i just reset it and keep on going.

we purchased a used navigon 2100 it did not have a user manual with it and we would like to have one

Is it a new memory card?
if so,did you the card and load all the files that are needed for the unit to work?

bjw122266 Have you tried holding the power button down for about 10 seconds or so?

Sounds like the data on the sd card is corrupted.
You have to reload all data on the card,everything is on the navigon website,sorry i don't have the link).
You have to register before you can use their site.
Process is slow so be patient.
You should also format the sd card before reloading the data ( FAT,not FAT32).
process goes a little faster if you use a card reader.
