Tomtom Go 630 GPS Receiver - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
Convert kilometers to miles
If your question is how to display the distance information in miles, instead of kilometers ... it is a setting option you can change.
Touch the center area of the driving screen to view the menu ...
Tap on Change Preferences ... and move to the screen (near the end) to Change Setting
Tap on Set Units ... and get to and select Miles
Then finish/exit ... and all your distance units will be displayed in Miles
Tomtom 630 comes off the map you are on and keeps
I have seen this twice once on a GO 630 and a GO 730, the right side of the screen is being pinched by a rubber seal under the blacke trim plate, take the GPS apart real easy to do and removed the right side of rubber seal between the plate and the screen. Have done this twice and both units work perfect.

Windows 7 will not recognize my tom tom go 630
Lots of folks having this problem with differernt model TomToms. It's the USB on the TomTom.
You'll need to "reset" the unit, using a paperclip or narrow pen, hold the reset button in for about 5 seconds and you should be good to go. On the 630 it's on the bottm, right next to the USB port.
Hope this helps!

You have to go into Change Preferences and click on next until you see Set Units. Select this and make the appropriate changes on all units like Kilometer, Time, Degrees, etc.
Windows 7 64 bit does
Windows 7 is a new operating system, it does not support so many applications, softwares and files, Therefore, not being able to use your tom tom on your windows 7 should not come as a surprise to you as windows 7 does not support so many kind of softwares.
Try your tom tom video converter on another operating system and am very certain it will work there, except if there is a problem with the converter itself. Try it out on windows vista, windows XP etc.
Best regards

My 630 go had espresso
Yes. You can take the back cover off an put rice in the unit. This will soak up all of the moisture. It might be too late. DC voltage produces corrosion very quickly. If the corrosion gets too bad it will eat the soldered connections.
