I have an F51 code
Hello,
If you are handy, yes. The rps sensor is mounted to the motor. Remove power and tip the unit back. The motor has one bolt in the middle that holds it in place. Once the motor drops out the sensor clips off the stator motor.
First time will take you two hours or so. Not difficult time consuming though.
The Ld error keeps coming
Taking to long to drain, Make sure the filter is clear first, also make sure the drain hose is not kinked.

If your buzzing noise stops after a few seconds, it could be the motor failing to start. If it sounds like a signal buzzer, it could be indicating the lid open, or a failed lid switch.
I have pocket change in
do a Google search on your model number and type in on how to take it apart. I bet you your change somehow got in between the two tubs. The inner tub and the outer tub.
My maytag will not start
Hello,
Normally this means the control board behind the panel has failed. You can replace this by yourself it's really simple.
Remove the three screws on the back of the control panel and tilt the panel up and out of the way. Next unhook the white ribbon connector that hooks the control panel to the mother board.
If the main wire harness coming in has 110v replace the control. The control is clipped into position with one small screws on the front of the gray housing.
Code f:51
The F 51 code, would indicate, the control board is not seeing the proper resistance on the motor circuit .
You should check and make sure there are not any articles, stuck between the tubs, or under the agitator.
Make sure you're not overloading the machine.and you have proper voltage to the unit.
Have you run the unit through a cycle empty ?
You may want to try that, before we have to get too involved in circuit and voltage tests.
Your technical data sheet should be on the inside of the front panel, you'll need to raise the top of the washer, using a putty knife to release the clips in the front seam, holding the top down .

Hi
F51 error is a rotor position sensor error. This error
appears when rotor position sensor is faulty or due to a faulty control board.
Look underneath the tub and check the motor, check for RPS on the right side
(follow the brown wires) and under the motors rotor disk. Use Allen
wrench to remove the rotor and then the four bolts holding the motor stator to
the tub can be removed. Hope this
helps...please post back for further assistance.

You must make sure the drain hose is above teh water level and not in the water in the "P" trap of the house drain. There must be air to prevent siphoning. The drain hose should not go more than about 12" down in the drain tube.

Can I pack insulation around
Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
NO!
(If you haven't already, try my guidance notes on leveling, please!)
I mostly answer front load problems but ' out of balance' is a common problem with both!
So- I don't know your particular machine but the initial cure is the same.
It is necessary to ensure absolutely that the machine, even when empty, has all 4 feet very firmly on the floor, and I mean firmly ;-0)
Doesn't matter whether it is empty or not but switch it off then-
very firmly push one front corner diagonally into the centre of the machine and see if the machine moves or rocks AT ALL, even the slightest. If it does you will need the open-ended spanner which came with the (new) machine........which of course went missing a long time ago?!! An adjustable spanner will suffice.
Adjust the foot under that corner downwards until it is very firmly- almost pushing- against the floor but not so far that the corner lifts up!
If this corner did not rock do the same to the other.
Once you cannot rock the machine the slightest little bit, screw the locking nuts up tight to the underside of the machine so that they will not move. Ideally the rear feet should also be locked.
If this has not cured the problem it is possible that the internal suspension is malfunctioning.
Good luck,
John C
During a sheets washing cycle
Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
Sorry but I do not know your particular machine BUT JUST IN CASE I would suggest as a first step that you clean the drain motor lint tray/filter.
Here are my complete, general pre-typed guidance notes for checking filters and motors ;-0)
-------------------------------------
If you are unsure where the filter is, it is often behind the front lower (kick) panel (or in some machines at the rear in an awkward position!) and held in by a round cover/knob.
REMOVE POWER AND ENSURE YOU HAVE A WATER RECEPTACLE/RAGS TO SOAK UP THE WATER WHICH IS BOUND TO POUR OUT!
It's surprising what people have found in theirs! It is always worthwhile checking it on a regular basis.
Now- whilst the filter is removed it is normally possible to see the drain motor and ensure it is not jammed by a foreign object such as a needle or a toothpick. It should be able to be turned by hand/finger- the power IS OFF!
At this point it is also possible to test if the motor works. No clothes or water in the machine, select a spin cycle and put the power back on. You should be able to see the motor turning at some point, possibly straight away. If it doesn't work then the motor is malfunctioning!
Hope the filter is the problem and good luck!

Does the sound shield on tha maytag bravos washer
Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
You are really answering your question yourself ;-0)
Have it put on- it's obviously been designed to cut down the noise and the installer was wrong not to fit it.
Cheers,
John C
