Epic 425 Mx Treadmill EPTL88105 ! - Page 5 - Answered Questions & Fixed issues

View the assembly guide in the beginning of the owners manual. The console and the arm supports are easy to remove with only removing a few bolts and a couple screws. The main wire harness connection will need to be disconnected behind the console.

On almost every unit my company installs this process is needed to get through the doorways

If you would like to remove the masts that come from the walking deck to the console is only four bolts at the base of the masts, but the plastic fitting where the main wire harness enters the mast, is almost impossible to remove without breaking.

I would suggest leaving up-rights in and removing the console.

Hello, Mary -

I went to the Xterra Fitness homepage:
http://www.xterrafitness.com/

Then, I clicked on the Support link in the upper right corner of the homepage.

That brought me to this page:
http://www.xterrafitness.com/support?ref=top-nav
Where I saw the link for "I Need A Service Document".
I chose that link.

That choice brings you here:
http://www.xterrafitness.com/support/supportdocs/

I do not see your model treadmill listed on that page. I suspect LUbe means your treadmill needs lubricating. The General Maintenace instrucitions (link the last one in the first column on the Support Documents page) will give you some information.

This is the link to the Contact Us page for Xterra Fitness:
http://www.xterrafitness.com/contacts/?ref=footer-link
You may want to send an email to find out how you can obtain an owner's manual for your model of treadmill.

Best wishes.

If it is the pedals it is a seized bearing and a new set of pedals will resolve. There are only two diameters is pedal threads, see a local bike shop if they are 9/16” or 1/2”.

If it is your crank arms you will need to open the machine up for further inspection

Most treadmills will produce some sort of error code if everything is ok in the the lower control board, but you get no response from the motor when pushing the start button.

First verify the motor is functional. I use a 12v 9ah battery commonly used in a Vexlar fishing system, but I have even used the connection points on my cordless drill battery to make a run. Using one of these small power source will make the motor/belt move, but you will be able to easily make the belt stop if you were to step on the walking belt. The point of the exercise is to verify the motor is operational.

If the motor is operational and the unit still does not throw a code or recognize there is an issue, then you can feel about 90 percent confident it is the lower control board under the hood that supplies power to the motor.

The “click” is often some capacitor opening and attempting to send power, but another path way on the board is holding the system back.

Lower control boards go out commonly. They can just have a defect or they are the result of too much stress.

The make/model would be beneficial in your search for help. Along with a little detail on the past history of the machine and how the issue came to be.

Assuming it is a treadmill. The overlay on the console could be faulty, upper control board, main wire harness, or lower control board.

Consider the console bad. If under warranty pursue a new console.

Consoles are very expensive to purchase outright.

I fit bit or other activity tracker may be more accurate.
