This sounds like the Blue Screen of Death. Most likely a hardware problem. Does the blue screen display words and numbers? If so try to write down numbers and do a Google search. Check your current software power settings profile from within your operating system. It could be possible to be set on something like "Save Energy" profile, meant to save your battery energy, even when you are plugged in, and reduce the energy to the components to minimum (even on CPU, HDD, screen, etc...) Change the power profile to something like "Best Performance" (or something like this, depending on your OS) but be careful when you run on batteries (and not on AC)
