My Proform Crosswalk 395 Treadmill will turn on but belt does not. We just moved it from the garage into the house.

Question edited for maker name. Question moved from Building Materials to a Proform Crosswalk category. Either the belt is too slack or it needs to be reset. https://www.manualslib.com/manual/672296/Pro-Form-Crosswalk-395.html?page=20&term=reset&selected=9#manual ..

Friction is the #1 cause of this problem. Many cheaper treadmills have amotor with a cardboard core (people wonder why we are so down on cheap treadmills) and if the voltage and amperage through themotor heats it up sufficiently, it begins to smolder. If this is the case, you normally have to replace the belt and the motor and inspectthe deck. If the armature has cooked enough in the motor, you also have to replace the motor. If the belt and deck check out OK, check for a short in the motor. Youcan run the motor with an independent power source like a fullycharged cordless drill battery to see if the symptoms are the same. Click on thefollowing link for our motor test. If the belt and deck check out and the motor is OK, then check yourwiring and electronics for signs of scorching and replace the appropriate part(s).

Sincerely. God bless you.

My treadmill turns on but completely cuts out and trips the house fuse box.. whats wrong

Either your Motor or Motor Control Board(MCB) is faulty. Try testing your Motor with a Drill Battery: 1. Disconnect the machine's power lead from the power socket, so that there is no power to the machine. 2. Open the Motor Hood. 3. Disconnect the Motor + and - leads from the Motor Control Board. 4. Connect + and - leads(normally Red and Black) to the Drill Battery. The Motor should turn the Belt. With the Motor leads disconnected from the MCB, you can connect the machine to the power, Press Start, and if this trips your Fuse Box you know its definitely the MCB. Only carry out these tests if you are competent. Lethal Voltages are present. samsfitnesssolutions.co.uk

How do I know if I need a new roller in the back?

Your problem may be as simple as a loose walking belt. It could also be that the belt guides on the underside of the deck is too wide. Ir could also be that your rear roller collapsed (there should be noise in this case) or your rear roller screw is broken or not holding tension for some reason. Try adjusting the belt again. Consider that the belt will move to the side of least resistance so if you tighten the left side the belt will move right and vise versa. Good luck. Problems with my pro form 540 treadmill

So after reading the post from EricLaw, I wanted to clarify his solution because it also worked for me. When you open up the console, you will see the membrane (it actually says membrane inside very small) and the connecting wires to the membrane is actually a wide flat plastic with some stripes embedded in the clear plastic which can be easily detached from the membrane (looks like masking tape w/ stripes). These stripes are how the touch pad on the console talk to the membrane. I then took scissors and cut slits between each stripe (cutting only the clear plastic part of the plastic tape) so that I could leave a strip out of the membrane. I played around leaving different strips out until the right strip was left out. If I recall correctly, I left the 5th strip out and the key pad now works entirely EXCEPT the speed 1 and 4 which were the only keys working until I did this. Hope this helps.

1125i proform speed fluxuates

The Steps for Newer Style Console Calibration

  1. Locate the calibration area on the rear or underside of the console (a hole, near the console's center, that goes through to the electronics board. (This hole should not have a screw in it.)

  2. Insert a pencil (eraser end), into the hole and feel around for the cal button (will click when pressed).

  3. Press the button 2 times (with the pencil eraser). The first click should show CL11 in the console, the second click should show CL21.

  4. If the process was done correctly, and CL21 appears in the console, you are in "calibration mode." The next few steps consists of pressing buttons on the console and observing settings. This will not require any other tools.

  5. Press ENTER. CL22 should display in the TIME window and (??) in the SPEED window.

  6. Press ENTER. CL23 should display in the TIME window and (??) in the SPEED window.

  7. Press ENTER. CL24 should display in the TIME window and (??) in the SPEED window.

  8. Press ENTER. CL25 should display in the TIME window and (??) in the SPEED window.

  9. Press ENTER. CL26 should display in the TIME window. You should then see the letter "E."

  10. Press ENTER. You should see "SS" or "55" in the console.

  11. Push the STOP/START button. For safety, at this point, you should step off, or be off, the treadmill.

  12. Push the ENTER button. The walking belt should start to move, accelerate to maximum speed, then stop on its own.

  13. When the belt stops, the incline should self test by raising to its highest incline position, then lowering back down to its lowest position.

  14. Once the incline test is complete, push the POWER button 2 times. The unit should shut off and the console should go completely blank. If this happens, the treadmill is done calibrating and is ready for use.

  15. If the letter "F" appears in the SPEED or INCLINE window when the power button is pressed 2 times, the treadmill is indicating a failure somewhere either in the SPEED or INCLINE (depending on the window the "F" appeared in). Troubleshooting the failure would be the next step.

Run the software calibration for troubleshooting. Test the s. sensor for open or faulty .clean it and tight very well.

Even while on manual setting the speed

1. You may have a belt and deck problem. Test by the following procedure: a) without the power on stand on the walking belt b) push the belt in the direction it normally turns c) if the belt is very difficult to turn (on most treadmill) this means that you have high belt/deck friction these parts will probably need replacement. On occasion, you may have already damaged the DC board if you have high belt/deck friction. If the belt walks freely, you have a different problem. 2. If it passes the belt/deck checks, you may have a DC board output problem. If the belt tests ok and you have a speed variation, try this test: a) Set the speed to 2.5 MPH. Let the treadmill run without anyone on the belt. Check to see if the speed is constant or if there is a variation. b) If there is no variation, step on the belt. If the speed slows down or speeds up, you may have an output problem on the DC board. This is the board that connects directly to the motor. 3. You may have a short in the motor. If you turn the machine on and have erratic speed, you could have a problem in the DC board or the motor or both. With a simple multi-meter, you can test on the continuity scale to see if you have a closed circuit between either DC motor lead and the common earth ground. You should always have an open circuit. 4. You may have a speed signal problem. Your controls on the upper panel send a signal to the lower electronics to help them set the appropriate speed. If there is a problem in the signal generator, the communication links, or in the feedback links, you will have erratic speed operation. a) Communications test- Look on the board for a flashing signal as you increase speed on the treadmill. Most boards have a signal feedback test light. If a LED flashes, your communication is ok. b) Feedback test- If your unit is equipped with an optical feedback (disk inside a sensor) you can swap the feedback unit with the incline (it is the same part on many Icon machines). If it tests ok, you don’t have a problem here. If it is a magnetic feedback unit, you can test continuity with a multi meter or replace with a new part to test. Many times passing a kitchen magnet in front of the signal will make a speed display on the console if the magnetic sensor is good.
