i had this problem too. the thing is when you plug the USB cord into it that just charges your ipod. you have to buy a cord that goes into the headphone hole and the other side plugs into the hole beside the USB slot on the treadmill. i got mine at Radioshack. so once you buy that the speakers will play your music and you can charge your ipod at the same time. =)

The treadmill you are usine in a cheaper model. the motors on those units are not that strong. when you incline your unit gravity make the belt move faster. Honestly, the best way to do this is to call an expert because any wrong adjustments to a treadmill can cause serious damage but if you want to attempt yourself you must try to move it whole with 2 people stronger holding the front of the tread as this is going to be the heaviest. Take the front down first down the stairs.

Run the machine through calibration. If this does not work you will have either a bad controller or incline motor is bad.

Make sure your tension spring is in place. Insert the plunger from the inside out with the spring in place. Then screw your knob into the plunger and you should be fine.

Did the shop only do a continuity check or a real load test with amp check also? Motors can look good and run with no load but fail under load.

i discovered a bolt protruduing about one inch just behind the drive belt from the moto to the roller. The drive belt had gotten over the bolt and that was causing the interfearence.

HOW TO LOWER THE TREADMILL FOR USE

1. Hold the upper end of the treadmill with your right hand.
Pull the latch knob to the left and hold it. It may be necessary
to push the frame forward as you pull the knob to
the left. Pivot the frame downward and release the latch
knob.

2. Hold the metal frame firmly with both hands and lower
it to the floor. CAUTION: Do not grip only the plastic
foot rails or drop the frame to the floor. Bend your legs
and keep your back straight.
