The motor on my proform 395e elliptical has begun humming and it is getting louder and louder. Is there a remedy?
There are a few potential remedies for a humming motor on a Proform 395e elliptical:
- Tighten any loose parts: If the humming noise is coming from the motor, it could be caused by loose parts that are vibrating against each other. Try tightening any screws or bolts that may be causing the noise.
- Check the belt: The belt that connects the motor to the elliptical's flywheel may be loose or damaged, which can cause a humming noise. Tighten the belt or replace it if it is damaged.
- Check the flywheel: If the flywheel is damaged or out of balance, it can cause the motor to vibrate and make a humming noise. Check the flywheel for damage and replace it if necessary.
- Check the motor bearings: If the motor bearings are worn or damaged, they can cause the motor to vibrate and make a humming noise. Check the motor bearings and replace them if necessary.
If you are unable to identify the source of the humming noise or fix it yourself, it is recommended that you contact Proform customer service or a qualified technician for assistance.
Proform 9000 trips power as soon as we turn it on. Anyone else had this issue?
Unplug the treadmill from the surge suppressor and plug in a typical house vacuum.
Turn on vacuum. If breaker does not trip from the vacuum then treadmill power supply is likely kaput.
If breaker trips then likely it's not the treadmill. Bypass surge suppressor by plugging vacuum directly into same wall outlet as the suppressor. If breaker again trips, it's not the suppressor and more likely there is some type of circuit overload or other fault in the house branch circuit.
Proform 505 cst belt slipping left and has crease
It's alway a good idea to replace any belt that shows signs of damage as this is a weak point on the belt and you risk it snapping, then you'll have to replace it anyway.
Check the alignment of the pulleys the belt drives. Check they line up with each other and they spin without any wobble.
Belts for these machines are usually not expensive. I would recommend you buy an original one from the manufacturer as this will be the one designed specifically for that job.
My left pedal keeps falling off of my proform pfex26820.0
Just my thoughts.
If the treads are stripped are warn on the pedal or inside the arm. The threads in the arm may need to be tapped or the threads on the shaft need to be rethreaded to clean the threads.
Could be the bearing in the pedal is not turning free and as you pedal the bike it is unscrewing the pedal from the arm.
After you tighten the pedal shaft to the arm the pedal should turn freely on the shaft and not bind.
