My bostitch framing nailer is leaking alot of air

Your nailer most likely uses a trigger, and the best place to purchase a new trigger is amazon. Take a look on this link Bostitch TVA11 Trigger Valve Kit I hope this was helpful. cheers bostitch-framing-nailer-leaking-alot-air-atj332yoy54aaiam5221rt21-2-0.jpg

The nails don't advance to the fireing pin

Assuming that the nails are moving ok down the rails and the pusher is in good order, if the driver does not return to the top position, the nails will not move into position. Remove air line to gun. Use metal rod to push driver to top position and verify that nails move into position. If the driver was at the top position, check for debris in rails or wrong nails. Place a strip of nails on the outside of the rails and align the nail heads with the rails. The first nail should align with the path of the driver. If the first nail head is tilted back away from the path of the driver, the driver will just push nails back into the rails and slip past. If nails are correct and driver does not return to top, suspect worn piston oring or cracked lower bumper or lack of lubrication.

I Have a N80 Coil Nailer. It was given to me without the manual. I down loaded a manual, however it is not clear how to set the nail depth. Can you advise?

Bostitch nailers used three methods to adjust how deep the nail will set. On stick nailer, there are one or two screws on the lower contact arm allows you to shift up or down. On coil nailers and others , there is thumb screw on side or under the trigger. Finally on some coil nailers, there was a series of spacers that snapped onto nose of the gun. Good luck

Manuals knowledge center

Bostitch nailers are usually stamped with model number on the lower body just above the nose piece on the left side (holding gun with right hand). Sometimes this stamping is covered with paint or the number was so lightly stamped that it is hard to see. Good luck

If it is a nailing hammer for a roofing project, I have used a degreaser to spray the end. Even on my air nailers that I use 16d nails in I do this. Make sure you keep 3 drops of the (FOR THE NAILER) IN IT'S RECEIVING END EVERY DAY! This will keep the inside good and slick.

Can I use paper collated nails in my Sta

Paper collated will work. Maze nails part # PCP28325131 works on many 28 degree guns including yours. Only advantage that I can see with using welded is that the nails will take more abuse on the job site including getting wet. Paper collated can brake apart easily but dont worry too much about the difference. I would buy the least expensive or available but I like the idea of using made in USA of maze nails (not available on all areas of US). Good luck

Leaking air through trigger area.

The trigger valve has seven orings. The oring kit may not include all orings needed. To replace the trigger valve, remove nails, remove the rollpin holding the trigger with 3mm driver to expose the trigger valve. Next remove one or two roll pins holding the trigger valve in the body of the gun. Apply air pressure to gun and catch the valve with gloved hand (use caution because the valve may come out with force). Note the position of the valve in the body of the gun in relation to the roll pins. If the firing pin seems loose in the body of the valve, replace the whole valve(could be # tva6 cost about 20 dollars on ebay). Good luck

My Bostich n 80 nailer misfires / doesn't always

Given your description, there are a couple of distinct issues here:

1) The gun mis-fires. This is usually due to a leak in either an Oring or the trigger itself. Both can be replaced for a reasonable cost. Follow the link below to get more information about a site that has parts breakdown diagrams and numbers.

2) The not feeding is usually caused by a lack of lubrication at the feeder area. It is also possible that dirt has accumulated here and has jammed the plunger assembly. I have successfully cleared this up in my guns by applying oil directly onto the plunger and working it a few times by hand. Please note that this should be done WITHOUT any air connected. Fire the gun a few times empty against a piece of scrap wood to test it as well.

Hope this helps,
Dan

My nailer doesn't have the power it used to.

This is usually a sign that there is an air leak. Check the link below for directions to a site with both parts and diagrams. That should be helpful in replacing the O-rings. This is relatively common and a normal wear and tear condition.

Air is leaking at the trigger on a Bostitch 80s b1

Your nailer uses a trigger valve (could be part # tva6 cost about $20, need to look up) and is sold at www.bostitch.com or generic valves sold on ebay . If you have a source for orings, you could try to repair the valve. Remove the roll pin that holds the trigger to expose the tva6 valve. There are roll pin/pins that hold the valve in just above the valve in the body. Remove these pins and apply air pressure to gun to pop-out the valve. Use caution when you do this. Remove nails, lower pressure to gun and use glove or rag to catch valve because it could come out with force. With tva6 valve in hand remove two pins that hold valve together and remove inner plunger. The middle oring on plunger is cause of leak. Try using an oring about same size as the broken seat. It must fit pretty tight to work. If you had a small leak it could be that the firing pin orings fit too loose or just too worn. Use silicone lube or oring lube on the orings and the valve port. Good Luck on your repair and email if you have other questions

My bostich framing nailer leaks air from top and

do you already have the rebuild kit??. Could be a cut o ring the cylinder seal might be cracked , there are quite a few items to check, specifically where is the air coming from, the exhaust, if so then I would look for the items mentioned. It would be best to download a breakdown for the tool and if you are mechanically inclined start disassembly laying parts out in the order removed and also maybe take a few quick pics to help you in reassembly. they are not that hard to rebuild. Let me know and I will see about the breakdown and rebuild kit for you but I need the model number and give me some general area you are in and I will try and find parts somewhat locally
