Water enters dishwasher, the unit seems to go on

this could be that the main pump id defective, once water enters the main pump does all the work to throw the water around and clean, once that is done the water is drained etc.so when you dont hear anything this indicates that the main pump is not running.supect this part first.I hope this was useful

We have a bosch dishwasher

If the supply line is leaking it could be a 3/8 supply line maybe the rubber washer built in the line is shot try replacing the supply line.they are about 15.00 at home depot.do not over tighten the new line you could damage it.some times people cross the thread types on these connection you have pipe thread and compression threads that is the best way to explain it I know of.Just make sure you pay attention to the threads.

I have a Bosch SGS56E02GB/35.

Hello,

Welcome to FixYa.

I'll start by saying I've read the other dialog you had with a fellow expert here at FixYa. I also have to say the "1" being displayed is almost certainly a error code...there is a manner to check though.

If you want to post your email address I can send you a service manual for the Bosch dishwashers which should not only guide you in accessing the heater assembly, but also the ability to check it from the control instead of pulling it completely apart needlessly or simply pulling of the right side panel to check the NTC, Hi-Limit and Flow Switch with an ohm meter.

macmarkus_123.jpg

**The NTC can be checked without removing the dishwasher by measuring its resistance at

the Control Unit. Using the appropriate wiring diagram, locate the two NTC leads. The resistance at room temperature should be approximately 55k Ohms. An extremely high, low or no Ohm reading will usually indicate a faulty NTC.**

Depending on the age of your dishwasher, it may also give you the diagnostic procedure to identify if it is indeed an error code.

For what it's worth, since you've replaced the control and the "1" is still being displayed combined with the tidbit of the unit not filling for the rinse cycle, you may have a faulty/stuck flow switch, ( or as you mentioned the NTC, thus cycling off on the Hi-limit producing the "1" error ) which is also responsible for turning the heater on once the unit fills, hence prompting the "1" error code...which indicates an error in the heating process.

Let me know what you think about the emailing of the service manual in pdf attachment and I'll try and assist you to a solution.

Regards,

Macmarkus :)

We have a bosch 9925uc

Hello,

Welcome to FixYa.

Based on your description, " water keeps leaking into the dishwasher "... and to answer your question, the issue is likely with the inlet/water valve.

**To remedy this you will need to replace the valve, not surprising for Bosch unfortunately**

This is what to look for..i.e.

e601791.jpg

As long as your model number is indeed correct, this info below will be accurate.

Original part is # 425458. It usually retails for about $20 - $30USD at places such as "searspartsdirect.com" "repairclinic.com" to name a couple.

**Before attempting to repair the unit please turn off the power and the water supply to the dishwasher...safety first**

If you remove the lower kick plate/toe panel, you will see the inlet valve to your left...

i.e.

Replacing it or to check for debris in the filter/screen at the inlet is pretty straight forward. Here`s how...

1) undo the water line. ( here you can visually inspect the screen in the valve...if nothing noted, you'll likely need to replace it as follows )

2) Remove the two #20 torx screws fastening it in place.

3) the feed tube to the machine at the back of the valve and swap it with the new one.

Once the new one is in you should be good to go.

Let me know if you need any further assistance, otherwise good luck.

Water doesn't heat properly... thermostat or

Hello,

Welcome to FixYa.

Based on your description I'd say the issue is with the control...unfortunately.

This is a copy of the test program which should match your model ( let me know if it's too small and I can send you a copy via email ), or the visual inspection approach below that...

macmarkus_109.jpg

Bosch has had a history of this exact problem I'm about to lay out for you and this is the first thing I'd be looking for if called out to service the unit with the symptoms you've described.

**B/S/H/ also issued a recall on certain models between 1999 - 2006 depending on the serial number, however it did not apply to your model.** Here's the link so you can see for yourself.

http://microsites.boschappliances.com/safetyrecall/dishwasher/

Those not affected by the recall still can be a problem but easily fixed. As I've alluded to the issue is likely within the electronic timer/control, specifically the heater relay solder joint. ( a faulty flow switch, ntc or heater can also cause this, but not very probable, the test below will help narrow down the culprit ).

My first suggestion would be calling in an authorized bosch service tech. if that is an option for you and your budget however, If you feel capable of checking this on your own, there`s a way to visually inspect the control yourself.

It will require you to remove the control from the unit and then remove the control from it`s plastic housing and look for a burnt solder contact on the printed circuit board.

dabfa62.jpg

The culprit will 99% of the times be one of the pins from the heater relay,

26052ec.jpg

**Flip this over and inspect the solder joints, it will be obvious when you see it...the cover for your models control comes apart in a similar manner**

This is where and what to look for, except I`ve re-soldered this one already...

face585.jpg

...hence the unit sit`s and takes longer
& longer to finish because it can`t heat to advance or unless the 2 buttons for "cancel" are pressed, other-times it will eventually stop or display "1".

You can also run the unit through a regular or econo cycle ...any cycle with the exception of rinse & hold, and with the door panel removed place an ammeter on the gray/black wire it should draw 11 amps during the wash cycle...after it fills and the flow switch indicates it has adequate water to engage the heater.

i.e.

f57273b.jpg
**My Opinion - if you or someone you know is proficient at soldering, a lot of times it can be remedied by simply repairing the solder...but it has to be done well...or it will not last, although Bosch recommend`s replacing the control ( @ approx. $150 - $250USD...$167.99 at "searspartsdirect.com" ) and I don`t pretend to speak on their behalf nor do I profess to know better. This is just my experience (it work`s) and my opinion (why buy new if one can repair ?)**

**Please disconnect the power or turn off the breaker before attempting any service to the dishwasher.**

If you do not feel comfortable attempting this service, call a local pro, preferably one familiar with Bosch/Thermador/Gaggenau/Siemens, to service your machine.

Hope this answer`s your question, let me know if I can assist you further.

Thank`s for visiting "FixYa" for your repair inquiries. Please take a moment and rate this solution to it's helpfulness.

Good luck.

Macmarkus :)
