do-it-yourself offer. If you decide to order the part and wishto repair
this on your own, hope this help?.

Just installed a new pump. After one minute of
The pump is capable of 115V or 230V operation.
Most likely what is causing your pump to shut down is the thermal overload.
Possible causes of thermal overload:
1. 230 V winding powered by 115V
2. 115V winding powered by 230V
Recheck your connections per the diagram either in the owners manual OR on the label of the motor.
When a NEW pump has issues almost every time the problem is in the connecting wiring either from the main power supply or on the motor terminal lugs.
Just look closely at the wires.. IF your absolutely sure that it is connected correctly. Go to the main power panel.. Push the CB for the pump to OFF hard and then back to on. (This resets the breakers) If it repeats... the symptoms... I need to know what wires you have connected up on the motor to what terminals by LABEL of each terminal.

When I turn on the power, my polaris pb4 pol pump
Check for a jammed impeller in the pump. Otherwise, sounds like the capacitor is probably bad. Either in a raised housing on the outside of the motor or in the back under the motor cover. The capacitors are rated in uF or micro farads. Be sure to get the right one...
Booster Pump would not start in evening but did next morning.
If you are able to rebuild it ... it is probably worth while. This includes replacing the motor bearings ... the start capacitor, all seals and bearings in the pump housing including the impeller.
For your current situation, I would suspect the start capacitor may be at the end of its useful life.
Who maintains your water? Is the water 'balanced' and are you getting proper sanitation on only 1.5 hours of filter time per day? Do you know what your flow rate is? Properly balanced water will not eat nor deposit onto your pool and accessories.
I think you will save some money if you run your filter longer. If this is outside and you are using chlorine, (should be 2 to 5 ppm) Are you using cynauric acid? (should be in the area of 35 ppm) (sun screen for chlorine).
Is this a plaster pool or plastic? What are your calcium readings? Plaster pools should be around 300 ppm up to 1000 ...Your pH ... is it in the proper range of 7.2 to 7.6?
If I can be of further assistance, comment to the remarks.

Where are the wires to attach comming from the hou...
Under the back cover is where the wires attach.
Do you know what you are doing? Do you know the difference between 120 VAC and 240 VAC? Do you know what your pump is wired for? Do you know the line voltage coming into your outlet where you will plug in the pump or hard wire it into??
No guessing is allowed here. Death is a possibility. Be sure what you are doing before you touch anything. If not sure, pay an electrician to make this connection.
What about bonding ... does your pool require bonding? Is it bonded? Please check on these things before you begin using your pool.
Thanks for your nterest in FixYa.com
Pump Cycles on and off. Runs for 10 to 15 seconds
Is this motor thermally protected? Are you running it on 240 VAC and the pump is set up for 240 VAC? (120 VAC- and 120 VAC?). Pump is on its own circuit, or one adequate to supply the proper volts, amps and watts? No extension cords involved?????????
The motor does this because it is over heating for some reason ... improper voltage comes to mind.
You say it starts but will not run ... a faulty run winding comes to mind (start circuit is evidently ok)
Overheating can als be caused by an obstruction in the suction or discharge ...
Do you have an exploded view showing how the
The ceramic goes rubber side first into the back of the impeller. The spring piece gets pressed into the seal plate. I will usually just use a 1" PVC coulping and lightly tap into the seal plate with that. But sorry I don't have any pictures to send but you should get instructions with the new seal in the box. You should end up with ceramic against graphite when your done.
How do you change the shaft seal on a polaris
BE CAREFUL YOU CAN BREAK THE SEAL PLATE BY OVER INSTALLING THE #1000 SEAL , TAKE 6 BOLTS OUT UNSCREW IMPELLER THE TAKE THE 4 BOLTS THAT HOLD THE SEAL PLATE TO THE MOTOR, KNOCK OUT OLD SEAL FROM SEAL PLATE USE SOCKET THAT FIT OVER SEAL. I USE A 1 1/4 SOCKET. THEN REPLACE CERAMIC IN IMPELLER (READ INSTRUCTIONS WITH SEAL)
OR TAKE IT TO YOUR LOCAL POOL PUMP MOTOR REPAIR GUY.. HAVE HIM DO IT . $ AROUND 40.00
Pump hums
prime the pump.Put some water in it
I turned on my pump today and it made a huming
Your Motor is either "Bound Up" stuck, jammed, whatever, or the motor has burnt out, or the controller is. You need to use the manual, & sites below to try and troubleshoot your problem.

The Jandy Aqua Pure, PDA, or One Touch control system will absolutely turn the pump on and off . Brand and type are not relevant to the controller. Each "Relay" allows or restricts power to whatever device is connected to it. Find the relay the pump is connected to. Move the wires to a different relay (aux1, aux2) and try again. If the power is correctly hooked to the relay, it must work or there is a problem with the relay itself (possible). Rob
Is there a RESET button on this pump PB-4
NO, there is not a reset on these types of motors. Check for proper voltage at the motor connections. Make sure you have it properly wired for the rate voltage of the motor.
Pump seems to running but the water pressure going
Disconnect the hose from the wall and with your hand fell how much pressure you have. It's possible you have an air lock. With the hose off the top fitting of the booster pump and the hose pointing away from you and electrical turn pump on and see what kind of pressure. This will also clear the air.
Had a small leak from pump, now when it comes on
sounds like pump is binding or jammed check motor bearings disassemble pump and try turning impeller if stuck try oiling motor if turns free check housing for debris or damage repair or replace any damaged part
