a 214 an oldie but a goodie ck your drive belt i'll bet it's broken tough to see i know with mower deck on but you might get a glimpse of it thru front looking in

Do a compression test on all your cylinders of your engine...if there will is a drop between two cylinders in pressure that would be indicating a blown head gasket.
I believe that is where you are getting your oil into your radiator.
If not, then check your radiator with the cap off and the engine running, see if you see bubbles coming up from inside the radiator...this would indicate a cracked block...major damage.

It sounds like the solenoid is defective, but try this first. Remove the wiring connections at the solenoid one at a time and clean them. The wires and terminals should be shiny and bright. A fine sandpaper or emery board does well to clean them. Once all are cleaned, re-try the starting process. If this doesn't get you going, replacing the solenoid would be next.

Some times a turn hose has a piece of rubber stuck in it . Try a new hose on that side.

Check your starter solenoid. Find it by following the pos. battery cable back to it, using jumper cable jump acrossed to other big cable on the other side of solenoid. With key in on position it should run. If it does eigther solenoid is bad, or ign swithc or the connections are dirty.

Try cleaning the vent hole in the gas cap. I had a similar issue and this worked great. Good luck.

check for cracks in the spark plug wire it sounds like it is shortening out or a ground wire.

yes its just a gromet that can be replaced,my concern is .does the engine have a lot of blowby,if its just a small leak it may just be the gromet,and I do hope that is all it is,if there is something else I can help you with please e-m [email protected]

The deck lift lever normally wont start lifting until you pull back at least half way.Ther are 2 sets of wires that go under the fender deck,one set goes to the seat switch and the other set goes to the neutral start switch next to the shift lever,just in front of the seat.The neutral start switch wires more than likley came loose when you pulled fender deck off.The micro switch is on the back side of plate that surrounds shift lever.

How old is the Battery? Are all battery terminals clean and tight?
Charge the Battery for one hour and if the battery charger has a starting position , after one hour set the charger to starting postion and try starting the mower. Make sure the blades are not still engaged the mower will not start. Check key switch. I have had them go bad.
Check all safety devices to see if maybe one of them might not be making contact.

your belt has a wore spot on it. that will cacse it to vibrate.hope this is some help

When it shuts down crack the fuel cap and listen for the woosh of a vacuum on the fuel tank. If you hear this, clean the pinhole vent in the fuel cap, or replace it. Being partially plugged would cause you to be starved for fuel and could explain your issue, and why it goes away after a period of time.

On the left side of the injection pump is the fuel shutoff solenoid

Yes. The ignition switch uses two contacts for start/run. START position energizes the fuel shutoff relay which feeds back into itself to create a self latching state. The RUN position allows the self latch to continue until no longer in the RUN position (OFF), which interrupts the self latch thereby cutting off fuel. So you need to determine why the ignition switch RUN position doesn't maintain the fuel relay self latch state.
