Gibson Robot SG Special LTD Ebony - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
Hello, My robot will not tune.
This is one that you'll have to take to a Gibson dealer- not a lot known outside of them, parts aren't readily available. You may need the hardware replaced
Hi I have a Gibson
This is a problem with many batteries if allowed to fully discharge. One of the cells goes flat before the others THEN gets reversed charged as the device is continued to be used. The cell then shorts and the batteery will no longer be capable of charging. Replacing the battery is the solution. There are dangerous things one can do with driving a high chrging current for a few seconds to try and blow the shorted cell open... I would NOT recommend this due to explosion danger.
Every time i pull up the MCK to tune it the knob
If the knob itself comes off the shaft, you need to secure it to the shaft... maybe a setscrew needs to be tightened. Not sure what type knob you have... some of them have a screw under a cover on the top of the knob that pulls up a chuck to hold onto the shaft.
I CANT CHARGE THE BATTERY
SHORT CIRCUIT WARNING
In the event of a short circuit from negative to ground (Strings E or A to D or G) the white peg
symbol will flash. This can be caused if strings are not trimmed properly at the headstock. If
the short circuit runs from B or hi E to D, A or low E, the peg will flash yellow. Check to
make sure no strings touch one another.
Look at the strings. Towards the end of high E might be touching the B string causing your Gibson Robot to not take a charge. Your battery might also be completely dead. Click on the link below to order a replacement battery from Gibson:

I just got this guitar. I pull the tuner control,
Are you sure you are struming the G string at the right point? One might be able to fool the tuner by triggering a harmonic on the strings or being too aggressive in the strum.
I would pull the peg and see if the string CAN be tuned manually. It is possible the G string is bad or somebody put the wrong string on there.
Remember that strings can be within about 10% of the breaking tension when in tune.
Also it appears that the thing can detune itself to nearby keys. Make sure you have the dial set correct when you pull it out to tune.
