I have a Mackie 406M Powered Mixer. can't get sound out of it anymore. all the input level set lights stays on. any suggestions

That sounds like the amp board died. Mackie parts can be hard to source, and Mackie is really slow to ship, so I suggest taking it to a Mackie authorized service center. Here's a link- Contact Support Mackie

I have a Mackie 406m powered mixer. I was in a club with less than adequate power. My mixer got very hot and started smelling. Now when I turn it on, over 6 months later, it still smells and it has a

More in likely a voltage drop in the club, and the mixers power transformer was fighting for power, so it's brunt or burning up, also there are capacitors that filter the AC transformer hum, they Probably need to be replaced, this can be fixed tho, parts and labor might not be cheap...

Is it normal for a thump when turning on active mackie speakers

Yes, it's normal. You can probably turn the speaker volume down to minimum before turning them on to minimize it.

Powering on Mackie 2404-vlz3. Only the FX lights flash no matter what power supply I use or outlet I plug in

Probably the power inside the mixer needs to be looked at.

Onyx 4880 48 channel mixer

Are you actually sending a signal to the effects unit? normally you would have it in an insert although I know some people who take a sub channel out to the effects unit and then feed it back in through a mix channel if they run out of inserts or aux busses. What you describe above does not make sense to me. Can you elaborate with the full signal path for the effects unit?

I use 5 out of 6 aux. for monitor...That leaves only 1 aux. for delay/reverb. is there another way to hook up delay/reverb to mixer?...SR24-4 mackie mixer...

Why are you not using the inserts? Either assign a sub channel to your effects unit or do it at a channel level. In either case using the insert.

Static on left side of output

Loose connection or fader/pot needing cleaning. Try selective tapping and wobbling until you locate it. You could try contact cleaner if it's a pot/fader otherwise it's out with the iron unless it's just a loose lead internally.
