If remote and receiver is rated for fan load then this should be possible. Will need to replace remote and sensor units as 3rd party remote may not be compatible with the Hunter type.

Can be almost impossible to determine code without sighting receiver. Do you have old transmitter as the correct dip switch settings would be on this. One "trick" you can do if there are more than one remote fans installed is to check other controllers for their codes. generally when installers set dip switches for multiple fans in homes they move the No1 switch from 0 to 1 or vice versa, then the switch position for second fan is move switch 2 as previous. You may be lucky and "jag" the position otherwise you will need to get to receiver.

Is there power at fan terminals? If not then fan controller faulty. If yes then internal wring faulty and replacement necessary as not a repairable item. Also check if active and neutral are available at fan. Also if remote check batteries in remote unit or could be faulty remote receiver

To help those on fixya to help you need to put out more info as there are many models of fan's if there's a model number you need to put it up with you're question. for now here is a fan motor that maybe what you need. Take apart you're fan and look at the motor for model tag's and look it up. P.S. most small fan's are simple 3 corded motor's a (+) & (-) & (ground) so if it fit's and you know you're wiring you can make any motor work. just make check that the motor does not take to much current you may end up with a hot cord.
