check the oil pressure first with a test gauge, as far as the other light goes have you over revved the engine?

NO THE OIL IS OK , THERE IS NO FLASHING LIGHTS

I hope this helps someone because there is such a lack of helpful info/examples online for these little motors. Pretty simple once you remove the Air intake casing (2 screws). Thermostat is in this highlighted circle (Starboard side of motor)

Has this unit been sitting for a while? Have a professional mechanic clean and set the carbs. A professional motorcycle mechanic CAN do this too!!

Agree, fuel delivery system. Probably needs replacing.

0.04 is the spec.

Did you lose it or can it be repaired?

if you are happy with current propeller then take prop off lower unit and look on the backside of the prop..it should show size and pitch close to center

Turn the carburetor upside down. The float should be level with the bottom of the carburetor.

K. All outboards from the 1980's out have a built in kill switch. The most common problem for your issue is the shifter cable ( the one that puts you into forward ,neutral, or reverse) is stretched and you are not quite in neutral and are tripping the built in kill switch. Depending on the engine you will either not have anything happening when you turn the key or you will have zero spark or both. It is there to keep you from flying off the boat if you leave it in gear and forget. ... the second is corroded ground or loose ground on the engine or the battery. And third is a blown fuse at the engine end. To check if the problem is your shifter cable , just detach it from the engine and manually place it in neutral by grabbing the shift leaver located on the motor then try starting it again. If thats the issue then adjust the cable and order a new one and have it on stand by.. Throttle cable also. Both usually need to be replaced at the same time.

you need to get a manual for that model I suspect that the hose to the unit on the block is the tank hose to the fuel pump and there should be a hose from that unit ( fuel pump ) to the carby the hose from the crankcase is possibly the hose that works from the pulses of the piston ( suction/ pressure ) that works the pump diaphragm to pump the fuel If you are getting fuel into the sump I would suspect a hole in that diaphragm discuss the problem with a service center for that make
