I'm surprised that you think a cost cutting bodge up job would do the trick! You will be lucky if it hasn't damaged the vacuum! See your dealer and get a filter for the job. It will be cheaper than paying out for the repairs for a new cleaner.
EEureka Atlantis 2595A Upright Wet/Dry
I have an Eureka Atlantis Deep Steam Extractor and it does the same thing. It's not new but it hasn't been used much. The only thing the booksays
is to put the tank in until it snaps into place. (Like we didn'ttry
that.) Apparently it's a bad design. The seal on mine looks fine.
If I was doing the floor I'd just keep going but I'm trying to do my couches and I don't need a huge puddle on the floor.
Where can i get the
you should be able to get the shampoo at wal-mart and any place else they sell the steam cleaners. You do not have to use the eureka shampoo for this unit, however, it is more recommended.
I mean you can use the hoover, and dirt devil shampoo if you can find that, or something generic. Because the machine is mixing the soap for you with the water, anything will work.
As for the owners manual, you can get it
here.
Don't know how to take dirty water canister out
The dirty water container just lifts out, but it can be very stubborn sometimes. You might have to wiggle it a little to loosen, then pull straight up (perpendicular to the floor). Hope this helps!
Eureka
Put water in the tank to the fill line. Turn on the unit, and press the spray as you need it. This is a silly question, and should be taken off the board.
Water leaking
The water tanks on this unit have had a very bad history of leaks. Most of the repair people had never heard of this unit, but one did, and had a spare set of tanks. If the unit is still under warranty, it is worth your while to get a replacement unit. Call Eureka, and ask them how to get a replacement unit, especially if you are having more than one issue with the unit (such as leaking, no heat, broken upholstery nozzle, etc.). I had success in sending back the serial number plate and a detailed list of my problems. They sent me a new unit, and I was able to get at least one unit working properly. Some repair men may be able to fix leaks in the seals on the tank. Hold the tank up and if it leaks, well you got your problem! Eureka will not solve your problem, I've discovered they like to let their service depots handle their junk. Most service depots can give you a solution if they are worth their salt. If the service depot can still get tanks, go that direction. If no replacement tanks are available, call Eureka for a whole unit.
Eureka atlantis...water won't spray out.
Try taking the upholstery nozzle apart, there are only a couple of screws, and make sure the little tube is attached where it is supposed to be attached. Be careful when you take it apart, and remember how to put it back together. Try running some water in the one end and see if it comes out the other end. I had a problem with the grip switch not working, and ended getting Eureka to send me a whole new unit as it was still under warranty. I honestly tried to fix it myself, but I don't think the design is good enough to be fixed, so replacement is usually the better choice. Again, I say, shame on Eureka for such a bad product. A good appliance service depot should be able to get a new hose for you, but if you have to pay big bucks, I think it is better to try a different brand than Eureka. I'm assuming by your question that the nozzle is the one on the upholstery hose attachment.
Eureka Atlantis Stopped Working
I would contact eureka for warranty repair. sounds like it there is something wrong with the mechanis of the unit. could be that water is making its way into the motor pump housing and causing damage to the pump
