Regarding my Raypak Spa Heater Versa 055B: Burner

I'm assuming, first, that your pump is running when you turn up the temp, otherwise, the high temp switch will turn off the gas. Then, it could be any of the switches hooked in series that must have flow thru them to let yhe ignition open the gas valve. ie could be water-flow switch not sensing enough eater running by it. Bypass (jumper) one at a time to find the culprit. Good luck...

Replace ray pak main temperature sensor

The temp sensor is on top of the header side of the pump behind the panel. Unscrew the side panel above the header and unscrew the small fitting to remove the sensor, replace it and plug in to circuit board

Digital control reads REM off and we connot seem

Press and hold the "temp up, temp down and mode" buttons at the same time for 5-7 seconds...The display should show REMon or REMoff... You have REMon probably. Toggle with the up/down buttons to show REMoff... This should default back to original display. If not, push the mode button....

I have a water leak from my heat exchanger, can I fix or do I need to replace?

Fixing is usually not an option due to the metal being so thin throughout the exchanger. Unfortunately the replacement is not cheap.A replacement will run pretty deep in to the price of a new heater, and all the other components are still old and subject to fail. Most people opt to replace the heater for a long term solution.Keep a closer watch on the pH, alkalinity and calcium next time to prevent this from happening again. Vinyl and fiberglass pools experience this more because the pH has a tendency to drop. Plaster pools have pH that wants to rise.

Pool heater will not fire up

Check for proper flow at your pump and at the return jets. You have to sustain proper water flow in order of rthe heater to function properly. If the flow is adequate, then use a jumper lead across the pressure switch terminals on the heater and see if it will fire and remain on. If so then the pressure switch is either faulty or you have a flow problem which is not generating enough water pressure to trip the switch. DO NOT adjust the pressure switch, as it is factory set. Check your pump for a clogged inlet or other possible blockage before the heater.

Pilot ignights, keeps sparking then goes to lockout

I have the exact same model with the exact same problem. Did you ever figure out what the problem was? I just picked up a new gas valve, but maybe i should check the flame sensor first. In my systems case the electronic ignition fires, which lights the pilot, but it keeps firing even though the pilot light is lit. So I think it could be the flame sensor, how do I remedy that or check it out. I would like to check this out first before dropping in the gas valve, cause they arent cheap and I can still return it before its installed.
