It looks a little low - but two possiblilites... the motherboard's chipset does not support more than 3GB of ram or you have not configured your ram correctly in your BIOS setup.

Restart computer and press whichever key it asks you to so you can go to Setup or BIOS config.

Look in the memory section, advanced chip set section or if necessary just go through all the options until you see the map memory hole... this allows the BIOS to see more memory.

But I think you will find it is your chipset. You could try flashing the BIOS to the latest version --- but that's another story.

well it could be a problem with the hard drive you might have to buy a new 1 give me a thumbs up plox

right click on my computer --> properties --> computer name --> change the name of the workgroup there and apply and ok ( you may need to reboot for it to take effect )

If you are joining a domain ( windows domain ie with a server ) then select domain and enter the Fully Qualified Domain Name in the text field

you can backup important files with an external USB adapter for your drive, you'll have to use a working computer to connect the drive from the other computer. When you are satisfied you have a backup, try the windows repair OR re-install windows xp using the "upgrade" option, it should leave all your files in place. Don't do a factory reset if you have that option unless you're sure everything important is backed up.

I think that you mean you could not activate your Windows installation with Microsoft? They tag your hardware, since your hardware has changed it will not activate. When it gives you that message it will also give you a number to call Microsoft. It is a free call, explain what happened and what you did and they will ask for your license key and then provide you with a code to activate the operating system. Please contact Microsoft directly as this is generally a Windows XP issue which is no longer supported by Microsoft. Also clarify the problem is you wish for more answers.

Can you provide additional details? What errors are you getting or is it just slow and seeming to be stuck? Are you connected to the internet? Do you have enough disk space for the install?

you can search the web for the 'google toolbar' and try to install it but you may have to use Google Chrome browser(install it from web) to use the google toolbar. why need that toolbar? you can attach google apps/tools to IE favorites bar, right? you don't have to use google search unless it is attached to the g tool bar?

Reinstall your browser, and if it does not fix it, do System restore, and again, if it does not do the trick, backup your files, and reinstall the OS.
