20 Most Recent Tomtom ONE 125 GPS Receiver Questions & Answers

I am not saying this is your problem, but I have had several TomTom 125's lately that do the same thing. It seems that the ram is faulty and as far as I know there is no fix.

Tap the Change preference icon. It is the one with the blue wrench to the left of the orange arrow on the top picture. Once you are in change preferences, use the right arrow to explore the options. Find the icon that is shown on the next picture (the Flags). Use the Up and down arrows that will show to the right of the list of languages to select the language you want.

You "MAY" have to flash the drive. To do this, just hold down the start button for approximately 15 secs. You'll then see a dark screen with different command strings listed, after doing this it should restart itself, if not, then just turn the unit off again & back on to see if it has corrected itself & boots up as normal.

If you haven't already, download TomTom One Home, then plug your TomTom to the computer via USB cable, power on your TomTom, after the unit boots up, you have a selection, "Would you like to connect to computer" press Yes, TomTom Home will automatically start & in a few moments it will show no devise connected to device connected, (on computer), it will then scan your TomTom to see if any updates are needed & what's available. Some services charge a small fee yet many do not, just select whatever programs you'd like to and hit "Add". Note: If needing maps, they become available every quarter of the year at about $8.95 USD, occasionally they will post a full install update map as a promotional for no cost! If you're luck enough to notice this at the time.

What language were they listed under when you download them? I download some English speaking voices but some were from the UK, some were from Africa. The point is when I was choosing languages to play back from the device I received a question similar to do you only want to show English languages. If I answered no then I browse the other languages and play them.

Go to the TomTom site, select your model and download the user's guide.

Your particular unit runs it's software from SD-Card. you need to check if the card is not damaged: while unpowered push the SD card to come out insert it in a card reader on your computer and see if it reads it ok, if it ask's you to format it it means it's damaged and should be replaced ( the sd card of your tomtom should be replaced with another SD card which you should buy from tomtom for your particular device not a generic one). if it reads just fine reinsert it and start the device again..And about the reset the correct procedure is: Press and hold the On/Off button until your device restarts. This can take more than fifteen seconds.
You should also install Tomtom Home on your computer, connect the device and update it if al the above failed (with a verified and working SD card inserted) - link for Tomtom Home: Windows, Mac

Do a hard reset. This should force it to reload the sattilite data and update the time.

The reset for your model will be near the back of the manual. Usually is holding down a button and powering on. Then letting it run until it updates (up to an hour)

Call TomTom support. They'll walk you through the reinstallation process.

So did mine until I got an aftermarket mount.Also, make sure the mounting disc and suction cup are perfectly clean. If you're trying to mount it in freezing weather, wait till the disc & suction cup warm up a bit before mounting.

Call TomTom support. They will walk you through the reloading process to fix your problem. I had parts of my maps missing after a map upgrade through TomTom Home. They said the problem was caused by a corrupt download. After they walked me through a complete reset the unit worked perfectly. p.s.-They're actual Americans in Watertown, N.Y.

Okay, I had the same problem as you. Go onto the TomTom website and go to the Support Page. From there, answere the questions as:
-Click Car Navigation
-Select TomTom ONE 125
-Click Technical Support
Now scroll down to Question number 6.
-Click on question 6
Scroll down, read, and perform number 1 and 2.
1. Uninstall The Application
2. Reinstall the Application

This did it for me. JUST MAKE SURE YOU CREATE A BACKUP BEFORE DOING THIS!!!!!

Tap on your TomTom One screen to bring up 'Change preferences' then scroll right by taping on the right arrow to locate 'Change Home location' and then either enter from 'Address' or 'Recent destination' .

What you should do is always download from well known sites as this way you always know what you are getting, So the download you have already, Erase that and head to TomTom.com and download it from there.
