Your hard disk is problem, there is two possible things that make you get that message. First your hard disk is full and there is a problem that windows cannot find specific file, that file maybe damaged or erased or moved to other location. Second your hard disk is about to die :). When and if your successfully finish repairing itself, try to download form the Internet program : " Hard disk sentinel", that program is free of charge. When you finish downloading install it and run. The program will show you in what kind of shape is your drive or drive's if you have more than one. In the filed on top find configuration and than preferences open and click on the " Load at windows startup", uncheck it. When program shows the shape of your hard drive or drives it will also show you estimated time when is predicted it will die. If you have BAD Sectors and program shows you a lot of red fields its time to backup your file and replace that drive.

My acer aspire loses its signal randomly then comes back. Other laptops in the house are fine for connection. Any advice in simple terms appreciated as I don't know how to remove acer software for

Have had similar problems with two Gateways that are actually Acer--both two feet away on either side of each other: one or the other will lose connection--so not the units---if move the one not connecting closer (it is 50 feet with 3 walls between it and router) it will then pick up the wireless and work fine--I answer about 300 questions here each week so end up to avoid this in the mud/laundry room where I can depend on the signal and also have a smoke if I want.May want to as a test move it closer to the router and see if same issue or not.

Password/Bootable decive

The error PXE-E61: Media test failure usually means the hard diskhas failed or the hard disk needs re-seating or the disk controller is faulty.First - re-seat the harddisk and reboot the computer. If the computer does not boot up then reboot andgo into the BIOS configuration to see if the BIOS detects the hard drive. If itdoesn't detect the hard drive then it could be faulty. Then the hard drive needsto be replaced in the computer/laptop, Windows installed and the computer orlaptop's device drivers plus your programs etc. to get a functioningcomputer/laptop again.

I have an acer aspire one AOA 110that seems to

Hi John,
To start off check your disc space. XP has this paging file that builds up over time and use. It also depends on the applications that you install and if it is running in the background. These are the applications that is activated every time you start up your machine.
You may also check on the amount of RAM you have in your system. Lets say you have 2 gb installed, around 500 mb or more is already assigned to your hardware and operating system. So that means you have 1.5 gb of RAM left for other applications and processes. So lets say you watch a few videos, and play a lot of flash games, your RAM will slowly be spent up. Once your RAM runs out, your hard disc space will act as your system RAM as virtual memory. So if your going to be using a lot of applications that takes a lot of resources for your RAM, it will be real slow in the long run. You do have the option to close a few unwanted applications, or do a system restart to refresh your system.
So now you'll be wondering, if you need to do that all the time now? Not exactly, remember the applications automatically start up once you on your machine? You can customize that to your liking now. There's two ways. First, you need to customize your installation wherein you select the option not to run the application automatically on Start. The second one is to remove the application from start up. One was is by removing it in Msconfig in windows. To launch it, just click on Start, then select Run, then Type Msconfig. You will then see a screen where you can see the start up items. Then just select the Start up applications that you don't want to open anymore on Start and untick it...and...Thats a lot of start eh....then you'll be doing a restart. For kicks, try to untick all and see how fast your system loads up.
Are you getting the picture now? Lesser applications on start up, more RAM for your system. SO just open up what you need and close what you don't.
And then there's the browser helpers, trial applications, and other stuff thats just there, installed in your computer. Just remove all that is unneeded! Imagine a room full of stuff you don't really need. Its messy. That also happens to your machine.
Anti-Malware and Windows Update. This goes hand in hand, better invest in an AntiVirus or Anti Malware subscription to protect you from the typical trojan or malware. Then do regular windows updates, to patch your system. Scan often and update often.
Lastly, delete unwanted files, it's just adding to your disc space. Do disc clean up and Defragment your discs every 3 weeks if possible. It is also best to shutdown your machine after use so once you start it up again, its fresh.

I have an Acer Aspire

Frequently ACER ASPIRE ONE A110 and A150 hang and give a black screen of death. Most probably this is due to the BIOS problems and if you want to boot them again, a BIOS updating is required.
First, download the required BIOS from the Acer site:http://gd.panam.acer.com/home/ and unzip it by another computer. (Your netbook is already dead!)

Among the extracted files and folders, there is a folder namely Dos_Flash. Open it and there are four file items there like "3310, 3310.fd, FLASHIT, and readme.
Now rename 3310.fd as ZG5IA32.fd and FLASHIT as FLASHIT.EXE and keep the rest as they are.
Copy all these four files to a fully formated and blank USB stick. In this USB stick there should be no other files or folders than what you copied now ( 3310, ZG5IA32.fd, FLASHIT.EXE, readme )

Keeping this USB stick in hand go to the dead netbook. Switch off the device if it is already on. Insert the USB stick. Having the AC power and the battery connected to the device press and hold FN+Esc and simulatneously press the power button to turn on the netbook.
Release the FN and Esc buttons after a few seconds and now the power button will be blinking. In this stage press once the power button alone.
Now the device will start updating the BIOS, we can see the process as the LED of the USB stick flashes. In a few minutes-say less than 10 minutes-the system will restart and come to life again.
Don't disturb it during this process and wait until it comes to full level of operational condition to remove the USB stick.

Best of luck,
M K Pukayoor,
Malappuram Kerala India.

Cant open my browser

Such problem occurs time after time to many programs (probably they are registry errors which you can't fix that easily) - only thing you have to do is to download it again and reinstall: Or just use one of the other browsers for a while.

Or try to get to the acer recovery
