The tv is 2 years old. it would turn off after
Had the same issue with my Vizio Plasma VP322HDTV10A. At power up it would turn on and off a number of times before it would stay on. In thinking it might be the power cord, I pulled it out and replaced it with a spare I had and it would not power up what so ever. I opened up the case and traced the the internal power coord to it's source and this lead to the main power supply board. I found three capacitors on this board with buldges on them (which the tops of the capacitors should be flat). I found a web side (SHOPJIMMY.COM) which had the parts I needed to repair the TV myself. the following is how much it cost to replace the needed parts

You can go to the manufacturer's website and order one from their customer service department or, more simply, go to WalMart and buy a $14.99 universal remote and program it to your TV following the instructions that come with it.

Sounds like the Backlight has burned out. I would contact a Vizio Service Center and see about getting it fixed or replaced. http://www.vizio.com/support/ check there for the information you need.
My Vizio (VA26LHDTV10T) Tv says
You get this issue because the TV does not support the resolution your xbox is displaying at. I had the same problem with my PC since I use the TV as a monitor. The TV will do a max resolution of 1360x768 so, you need to set your xbox to that resolution or the one closest to it as long as it is under that number.

Hi,
it seems video processor problem that creates spots/ marks on faces or it happens if video processor does not get proper stable volts form power supply board and common reason is leaky/ dried up electrolytic capacitors in output section of power supply board, replacement of bad capacitors will solve the problem and if video processor chip itself is defective then main board will be replaced.
Visual check is needed by professional to measure output volts of power supply after 1 1/2 hour tv operation.
Hope these info will help you.
Let me know if you have additional question.
Thanks.
My screen is black.
try to check your aerial connection at the back of your tv. also check your cable box connection.
For a couple of days it would take a couple of
Unstable power supply.
First, look at the screen in darkened room to see if you can see any slight glow from the screen, if it does, then the problem can be the T-CON (not getting the 12vdc) or the main logic board not feeding the signals to the T-CON board.
if not, next place to check will be the power supply module, make sure it has 24vdc which is required by the backlight inverter to work, the reason for not having 24vdc can be from bad DC filter caps (leaking/bulging top, high ESR) or short circuits in the inverter board which will cause the 24vdc supply to go into shutdown mode, so you may have to disconnect the power cable that feed the inverter board to see if the 24vdc will work without the inverter board hookup, you will need to apply about 3~4 amp of load to the 24vdc to make sure it can handle that. There are fuses on the backlight inverter boards also. So there is some troubleshooting you will have to do to find out the causes of the problem you are having.

Hi
Thanks for using FixYa. From what you have described it seems that the inverter board is fine so it is either the T-con board in the unit has gone bad and/or it is not getting the required 12vdc from the power supply unit. If you have knowledge of internal circuitry of the unit then you can open the back of the unit and check the T-con board which is the last board before the LCD panel. Usually it is available with the LCD Panel. All this is only recommended if you have electrical expertise & know how to solder/re-solder components as these units contain high voltages even when in off position. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.
Thanks
