The problem is most likely the the screws are loose on the inverter boards. The screws must be tighted as they provide the ground to the inverter bds. The inverter boards are undet the shields on both sides of the unit after pulling the back cover. One way to make sure that you are losing back lights and not video is when your picture goes black, shine a flash light on the screen at an angle and will see the video is still there. This mean the back lights are out. If you do not see the video it may be another problem

best way is to call whoever made the set for length, thread type and number of bolts.

Yes there is a tale tale sign that you have a blown fuse in the power supply or at least the components inside are not working in order.

A bad power supply would mean a dead TV. Now this does not mean you thorw the tv in the trash and forget it exists. You can purchase the power board itself from www.shopjimmy.com or www.partstore.com. I have seen many people repair these and know nothing about them for under $100 bucks. Not all results are guaranteed tho it will depend on your knowledge.

No stand by light, means no power is being delivered to the TV, Bad power supply or fuse.

Try some contact clean on the Vol- and Vol down contact switches,either the Vol- contact is dirty or it needs to be replaced. Mats Electronics has contact switches 1-800-628-1118
You could have a problem with Poor Solder Connections on Boards.

Are you sure you are pressing the Power button, and not the Home button?

Solid color vertical line? If it is, then the LCD panel is bad. It will get worst with more lines.

The main board has become faulty. The logic in the TV is bad that is causing the TV to have such problems. The only way to fix is to replace the main board.

The Wii will work on the TV. Just try plugging into the ports labeled AV1 or AV2. The red, yellow, and white holes should line in a row with AV1 and AV2. After you have them plugged in, press the INPUT button on the TV or the remote to get to the AV1 or AV2. It should work after that. :)

This is a problem with either the processing board or the panel itself. If the set is only a few weeks old, you should be able to return it for an exchange. These things happen to these sets on occassion. Just request an exchange under warranty.
