unplug everything and test one input device at a time (ie, game console, computer, tv, cable, etc) and select the appropriate input for whatever you plug in. could be the device being plugged in and not the tv at all. Problem is with Tcon board mounted on the LCD panel. Either replace Tcon board in complete or try to replace IC AS15-HGXXXXX mounted on Tcon board.

Using the remote that came with the TV, you should be able to bring up the MENU on the TV screen. You will have several options to work with, one of which is setting up the screen. One of the options offers you screen brightness. Slide the value pointer along the bar to the desired brightness. All of this is detailed in the setup manual that came with the TV.

Check the voltages that comes to the back light inverter, especially, the voltage from the main digital board that controls the brightness. can you connect to a tv or another monitor???try this see if works;if not the problem is with the graphics if you can get picture on a tv monitor check the device manager..(right clik start control panel-device manager)if any items have a yellow triangle there is a problem.
