Hi there,
My screen on
Make sure the device is charged and then slide and hold
the on switch for several seconds, the power LED behind the switch will blink three times to indicate it got the message. This will switch the kindle off (not
just put it to stand-by as with a short flip of the switch).
If it was off already, or after the above procedure, the same
slide-and-hold until after blinking will switch it on again (this may take like a minute or
so for reboot, you will see a progress indicator on screen).
If the software just hung and there is no electrical or mechanical defect, the kindle should be ready again.
Kindle locked up and now can't get it to turn on.
I have the same problem. The screen saver is partially frozen on the screen on the upper right corner and then blank down the rest of the right side. The rest of the screen is readable and I'm able navigate (turn pages, select different books, etc).
Did you figure anything out? Help!

How to unfreeze kindle screen? my kindle screen has froze
Hey
Well there are a lot of reasons why the Kindle screen freeze.
most of the times it happens when the Kindle is trying to upload some big files like photos, movies, flash etc. in this case all you have to do it to wait and it will un-freeze in couple of seconds.
Another Very common is that the Kindle Memory is full and he can't respond until some of the memory gets free, this usually will happen once you click too many times on the screen, the poor Kindle is overwhelmed with orders and doesn't know what to do, this happens to "newbies" with the kindle.
A lot of these freezing problems can be fixed by resting your Kindle, you can do a Soft reset press the Alt-Shift-R keys at the same time. (Shift is the one that
looks like an up arrow.) If that doesn't work, plug your Kindle into
the charger and try again.
You can also do a Hard Reset take the cover off the back and insert a paperclip in the little hole. Hold for 10 seconds, you may need to try again with the Kindle plugged into the cradle.
For the Kindle DX Hold the top on/off switch sliding it to the left and keep to the left, hold for 60-80 Sec, Release it. Wait a minute - the DX will flash. Then the screen will go black and then the
main Kindle screen (the guy sitting under the tree) will appear and the
start up thermometer bar. Once that's completed, the main menu will
come on, and your books will be rstored in batches over the next couple of minutes
And of course you can always Call Amazon Customer Service at 1-866-321-8851, 6a-10p PST, 7 days a week
Hope this will be helpful

My kindle keeps asking for a wi-fi password for sky37606
If sky37606 is your own wi-fi service then the password is normally on a typed label stuck to the wi-fi router itself along with the SSID of the wi-fi network which should be sky37606 in confirmation you are connecting to the correct network. If sky37606 is not your own wi-fi then you will either need to contact the owner or administrator of that network or select a different wi-fi network to connect to as described in the
Kindle Support web pages for your device.
