Blinking Plasma TV. After being on for a while, it "blinks"; no displacement up or down of picture. TV "blinks" a couple of times every half hour or so (I didn't time it).

Fault to the main power supply regulator section. Either it will be a separate board, or the part of main board. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis rather than making "Surgery" to it; which usually will make loss for both money and time. Even though you can make it right, it will cost around an amount equal to the cost of a new board; including the cost of (spare parts + service charge) More to say, most of the spare parts to it will be difficult to get from open electronic spare part market. This is true to most of the flat panel TV power supply boards; irrespective of its brand and screen size.

Insignia NS-PDP50 Plasma tv HDMI inputs are inoperative

First of all, make sure that the hdmi BLOCK setting is correct. This prohibits both hdmi inputs and the DVI from working. I didn't even know they existed so I replaced the YSUS board and then I found the settings were my issue all along. If the settings are correct then the most likely culprit is the YSUS board part number: BR36223601. It is a compatible card for your TV. There are several suitable subs for this board and it is a snap to replace. I found a like new board that works better than my original board for only $25.00. The heck with those rip offs for prices up to nearly $300... Good Luck.

If my TV acts like it is locked but is not then what is wrong with it?

When an Insignia TV is locked, it keeps you from watching all of your channels by only displaying a black screen. Insignia TVs are locked from a single button command on the remote control, so it is easy for you to lock the TV by accident. Since Insignia TVs can be locked so easily, it's important to know how to undo this command and unlock the TV yourself. So, unlock your Insignia TV with the push of a button and once again enjoy watching your favorite programs. • Find the lock button on the Insignia remote control. The lock button is located on the third column from the left on the second row from the top of the remote.

•Stand within operating range of the Insignia TV, then aim the remote at the TV's receiver and press the "Lock" button on the remote control.

• Aim the remote at the TV and press the channel buttons to make sure the TV is unlocked. When the TV is locked, it shows a black screen and does not allow you to view anything else. If the screen remains black, press the "Lock" button again. If this doesn't work, change the batteries in the remote and start over at step .

I have a plasma NS-PDP50

Good day!!!!

Commonly that trouble is cause of faulty capacitors on power supply board...

1. Open the back cover of your TV.
2. Look at the power supply board..Its normally connected to the power cord..
3. After that,,try to look at the actual image of capacitors if it is bulged on the top so that you can easily determine the bad capacitors..
4. After that,,try to replaced the bad capacitors using soldering iron and soldering lead..replaced the capacitors only with the same type ratings and value..
5. Some of the capacitors not bulged so its better if have a capacitance meter..

Insignia 50 inch 1080 plasma - Picture only shows about 3 inches at the top of the screen

Several possible suspects include: power board, main board--first step is test voltages coming out of power board--------remotely possible also is the display itself (panel which is screen unit) if it turns out to be that it is fatal.

That problem is usually have 2 causes..Its either power supply board or main board..Please take this steps on how to determine the problem:1. Open the back cover.2. Check the power supply output...It should have 5vdc for the main board..12vdc or 16vdc for the audio and 24vdc for the back-light inverter..3. If those 3 voltage supplies have encountered voltage drop...The problem could be on power supply board..4. If the power supply output is normal..The problem could be on the main board...5. If the problem is power supply you should check if the capacitors are bulged on the top and try to replaced it..If you can't do that you can purchased new power supply board..6. If the problem is on main board there is no D.I.Y repair on that so you need to buy a new main board that fits to your TV..Hope this solution will be helpful..Thanks for using fixya...

I have a Insignia NSP501Q-10A.

It went for around 1300 when it was new at Best Buy. By now I would say the T.V. is probably worth about 600ish, just because of its age and resolution. If it's getting hot just being plugged in then I would say that there is a problem with it. There is no reason for it to overheat without it actually being turned on, which makes me think there may be a short in there. I would unplug it for now just to be safe. Here is a list of replacement parts for the T.V. The power supply goes for about 149 and the cooling fan goes for about 50. But with the clicking sound it makes me think that there is something wrong with the power supply. With parts and service it would probably cost around 300 or more to have someone else fix it.
