Polaroid TLX 04011C- LCD TV
The slow flashing is a sign that the power source of the tv is in protected mode because there has been a failure on the output lines and it behaves like a short.
The only way to find the failed part is to check the voltages on the output lines of the power source - the one that is significantly lower (or 0) is the one that powers the failed part. Start checking with the inverter boards and their transistors, then check the T-con board.

I have taken the back of the polaroid tla-04011c
Remove the power cable from the back. With the 3 silver prongs exposed you should be able to see that the same black plastic receptical that houses the power cord, also houses the fuse (on the left side). You will need a small flat tip screwdriver to open the fuse compartment. Good luck!

If the TV works fine till the time it shuts off, then check if this is thermal related or if with a tap the TV shuts off. If so check for poor soldering joints in the power or relative sections. Use a good soldering iron to touch up all these circuits.
If not there could a component malfunction with thermal action. If so seek technical help if you are not familiar.

It may have power supply, T-CON, backlights inverter, or main board failure. In any case, it will require parts.
Please read below first.
First, look at the screen in darkened room to see if you can see any slight glow from the screen, if it does, then the problem can be the T-CON (not getting the 12vdc) or the main logic board not feeding the signals to the T-CON board.
if not, next place to check will be the power supply module, make sure it has 24vdc which is required by the backlight inverter to work, the reason for not having 24vdc can be from bad DC filter caps (leaking/bulging top, high ESR) or short circuits in the inverter board which will cause the 24vdc supply to go into shutdown mode, so you may have to disconnect the power cable that feed the inverter board to see if the 24vdc will work without the inverter board hookup, you will need to apply about 3~4 amp of load to the 24vdc to make sure it can handle that. There are fuses on the backlight inverter boards also. So there is some troubleshooting you will have to do to find out the causes of the problem you are having.

Have a TLA-04011C 40 inch
Could be the input selector board not changing inputs. Presumably you have pressed the input button on the remote? What happens?
Power down completely, remove mains plug wait 15 mins power up and try again. Also try a reset in the menu.

My polaroid TLA-04011c wont come on at all - it
First turn on and check with flashlight 2 in. from screen and see if there is a picture. If no picture then open back panel door by taking big black screw out of middle and 2 screw at bottom of panel and slide panel downward, pull off and unscrew metal plate and you should see bad caps in this set, this is what have to be replaced.

It didn't turn on. help needed. thx.
do you have the red light or blue, if red and don't come on then the problem is in your power supply, sometimes you can take back plate off and see the bulging caps and change and get set back running.

Left side of screen has a vertical band
The first thing I would do is check that the capacitors are not bulging on any of the boards in the machine. For reference look at: http://www.fixya.com/support/r741402-polaroid_flm_373b_lcd_tv_black_screen If you don't see any bulging or otherwise clearly failed capacitors, then I have no idea why a portion of the screen would be failing like that. Sorry.

Black shadow on the screen
Looks like you have accidentally spilled some liquid on the screen, however now the screen itself would have to be replaced and that is not usually cost
effective.
