Hello there, first thing you should do is to check the power cable.You can do that by changing it with PC power supply cable .It is the same. If it turns to be OK then disconnect the VGA cable from monitor and then try to power monitor on.There should be an activity on front power LED. If the power LED is not showing any light at all, then do not go further the unit is not working .Else the power led should blink a couple of times then a window pop up scrolling on the lcd saying :" no video signal" so the unit is OK ..Hope this helps. After removing all the screws and the base, I use thin flat blade screw driver to crack open the case starting at the bottom egde and work your way around, just watch out for any cables attached to the front bezel. The monitor is not made to be easily open up.

Check your VGA cable if connected properly to your CPU or Video Accelerator Card,if connected properly,try another VGA cable and if the problem persist you need to try another source.

ok try this one switch the hard-drive off and on again to restart it and then the screen would come one.

Check the all the cables. Check input settings by using the menu.

(hardward failure, monitor. the tests are simple, it fails on 2nd good PC, what can be more simple that test ANY 14 year old monitor on a 2nd good PC. when dead do this.(test2) they are all here when dead again use a FLASH LIGHT. (have 5 classic fail symptoms not just dead) they are short lived, laptops and monitors both back then. 20,00hours on the clock and go bad. bank on it. the 3 failures are CCFL, PSU board, and logic board #1 is CCFL the all died long ago, on average about year 2003 (07 +5= 12, 2012) at 20,000 yours boom dead. or intermittent. (using bench PSU to test them) but you have non of that so. upgrade

Hi, Sounds like an issue of the video card not the monitor. Take to computer shop to verify. One thing you can try is drop the dpi down (refresh rate)a bit. Then try again. If that makes sense to you. Hope that helps.

Hello, It´s not safe to anchor it to the plastic back, monitors usually have a metal frame inside that support the weight of the monitor.

You need to use a ESR meter to check capacitors

If you get half of the screen darker, remember that LCd monitor have 2 neon lamp at each extremity of the LCD, when one goes out you get this problem. it is possible to replace the LCD neon lamp, I did it many time, but you need to tear all the monitor appart and be carefull not to break any glass while doing so.

Normally your computer display goes to sleep mode when the attached cpu is not turned on..
